Qik launched a new version of it’s Android video chat client recently. The new version, called Qik Video Connect, allows users to chat across both Android and iOS platforms, and works on a wide range of phones from Android 2.1+. Google even updated their Google Talk Android app to include video chat as the trend catches on.
Features include the ability to share videos on social media sites, as well as create video mail to send to specific people. It also offers improved battery life, smoother pictures, and overall higher video quality over previous versions, noted the company.
“The launch of Qik Video Connect marks the first time the video chat capability is available in the Android Market via download and not just as a pre-loaded app,” noted the company in a statement. The app is available now in the Android market.
