Sky Siege. Stand up and Fight! Sky Siege for Android will see you battling gunships in an insane 3D experience combining Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. You will fight off enemy helicopters and fighter jets coming from all directions – front, flanks, behind and above you! This is not a game you can play sitting down –you need to stand up and spin around, using your device as a window into this hostile world to spot, lock and gun down the attackers.
To play Sky Siege on the Android, you will need some hardware – a 1Ghz Snapdragon or equivalent is required for smooth gameplay. It runs on Android 1.6, but for optimal performance you will want Android 2.1 or 2.2 installed on your phone.
AndroidTapp.com Android Game Review:
Pros & Cons:
- Unique augmented reality first person 3D shooter game
- Can be fun and addictive for the family
Sky Siege Android Game is an augmented reality first person aircraft shooter game in 3D. Your goal is to shoot down enemy planes, helicopters, blimps and more while putting yourself into the action… literally. We’ve seen augmented reality be put into useful motion via Street View in Google Maps, Layar and many more apps; but Sky Seige takes the same principle and allows you to seek, aim and blast enemies out of the sky by turning your body in any direction.
Use the on screen controls to toggle ammunition type and zoom in the bottom left corner, toggle augmented reality and virtual reality along with firing button in the bottom right, the top right shows your available ammo… so conserve it, and top left features pause and compass calibration options.
One thing noticed when playing the game at times the compass gets a little sticky and makes finding targets a bit difficult, but that maybe a hardware issue.

Fun Factor & Addictive:
It’s not your typical time-waster self inclusion game, yet one that involves you getting up and moving… so be in the play mind frame of playing the Wii. It can be fun and addictive, however it can become repetitive as the main goal is the same.
The game offers good 3D graphics both in the complete augmented world or there is a mode to mix the enemy action in your own world via virtual reality.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
This game relies on the phone’s built in compass plus has sound and vibration. Remember to steer clear of strong magnetic items (like computers) that may interfere with the compass.
