Aug 22, 2014 2:30 PM –
Snapsave for Snapchat is a replacement app for the popular temporary photo sharing social network. You can view the snap as many times as you like because this app allows you to save photos while not notifying the user that you’ve saved the chat.
Note: this app is not available in Google Play. Click the Install button above to download the app. Please use caution when using this app.
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport
Pros & Cons:
- Save user’s Snapchat photo and videos!
- Screenshot user’s Snapchats without them knowing!
- Not available in Google Play, must download directly.
- Minor: missing Snapchat filters and text input on chat screen could be improved.
Snapsave for Snapchat is the dream app for many that would like to circumvent the key feature of Snapchat- to view photos or videos more than once!
This app is not available in Google Play so you must download directly from the developer’s website (click the Install button above). You must have a Snapchat account, then log into Snapsave with the same access. Majority of the app and experience is similar to the original with the exception of a few. I could not find the filters for applying after taking a photo and when typing a message on the photo it could be improved as the text input does not auto space so you’re manually typing each digit… but these are minor. Using this replacement app is very similar to the original. From the camera screen you can take a picture or hold the capture button for a video. Next, you have options to set the duration in seconds, download it, send to My Stories, hand write atop of the photo then share with friends.
When others send you a photo/video you are no longer restricted to the seconds they set. Then you have the option to screenshot it without them knowing. Alternatively, if you do want them to be notified simply tap the smiley face icon to the bottom right. And if you want to save the Snapchat, there is a download button to the bottom left. Stories work the same except the user is always notified and saved to a “Stories” folder in your gallery.
Note: to download and install the app directly you must enable “Unknown Sources” on your Android device.
