SwitchPro Widget is a nimble, easy to use, elegant switch/toggle widget!
Tested on: MyTouch 3G Slide
Pros & Cons:
- Puts the most common settings in a quick widget right on your home screen!
- There are a good number of sizes and custom options!
- If you have Cyanogenmod installed, this will be redundant to their settings bar in the notifications menu.
SwitchPro Widget is an easy to use widget that puts the main settings right on your home screen. It allows you to toggle your settings like Wi-Fi, GPS or Bluetooth on and off easily, without having to go through the main settings menu. It’s a slim little bar that you can fit on the screen with other widgets or icons, which is always nice.
If you use, or have used in the past, Cyanogenmod, then it will actually feel very familiar. It is very similar to the settings bar you can have in the notification window, with the same types of toggles.
If you run Cyanogenmod, then this will be very redundant, since it’s basically the same toggle widget you get with that ROM, in the notification bar. However, if you haven’t rooted, or are running a ROM that doesn’t include that feature, then this is a very, very useful little widget.
Ease of Use:
The widget is very easy to set up, allowing you to go through a few settings to get it looking exactly the way you want. To use it, you just tap the setting you want to toggle on or off.
This is something you’ll probably use quite a bit. You can use it to not only toggle your settings, but to see at a glance what’s turned on that could, for example, be draining the battery. If you don’t need Bluetooth or GPS right now, this makes it easy to turn them off, and then turn them on again when you need them.
The settings interface is clean and easy to navigate. And the widget itself is clean – it is a bar that has small icons for each of the different settings, and they are the standards you’re used to, so it is easy to distinguish them right off the bat. They can, however, be slightly customized such as making the widget background transparent or changing the active color.
