Tales & Dragons: New Journey is presented as an Idle RPG (Role-Playing Game), which means that the core gameplay at heart is Idle in nature. Players need not invest a lot of their time into learning the basic mechanics of the game, as to be fair the gameplay is fully automatic. The only manual intervention you can do is by deciding which heroes you want to add to your formations during battles. Your heroes will automatically move and use their abilities. Players can also choose to use each hero’s ultimate ability by clicking on their portrait. The ultimate ability gauge fills as your heroes actively engage in battles, and get kills over time. Once ready, their portrait will glow, meaning they are now free to use their ultimate skill.

Apart from the said gameplay, Tales & Dragons: New Journey incorporates a ton of handy quality-of-life features such as 2X battle speed, automatic progression, and automatic battling system. • Gold – Gold is one the primary currencies of Tales & Dragons: New Journey. It is available in abundance and does not account for the premium currency. It’s majorly available through AFK looting system, daily quests, weekly quests, shop purchases, events, and achievements. On the other hand, it’s heavily spent on training heroes, buying items in the Gold market, and more.
• Diamond – Diamond is the premium currency of Tales & Dragons: New Journey. It is available in scarcity at all levels of the game, but you will still find it available at a higher quantity in the early game. It’s available via completing daily quests, weekly quests, acheivements, account level up, maintenance compensation, redeem codes, events, and pre-registration rewards. Players can spend their hard-earned Diamonds to summon for newer heroes in the summoning system.

• Hero EXP – Hero EXP is one of the primary currencies of Tales & Dragons: New Journey. It is available in abundance and does not account for the premium currency. It’s majorly available through AFK looting system, daily quests, weekly quests, events, and in-game microtransactions. It’s only goal in the game is to be used to level up your owned heroes. 

Understanding the Summoning System

Tales & Dragons: New Journey is a hero-collector RPG that makes use of gacha mechanics to give players a chance to recruit powerful heroes. The heroes in the game come in differing rarities, and possess unique skills and abilities. • Special Summoning Banner – Players can summon 3-Star to 5-Star heroes from this banner at differing rates according to the base rarity of the hero. You can use a currency known as “Energy Gem” to summon on this banner. Alternatively, you can also use Diamonds to summon on this banner. There’s a limit of summoning up to 10,000 heroes on a daily basis.
• Friendly Summoning Banner – Players can summon 2-Star to 5-Star heroes from this banner at differing rates according to the base rarity of the hero. You can use a currency known as “Heart” to summon on this banner. There’s a limit of summoning up to 10,000 heroes on a daily basis.
