Uwana – quick meetup app
Nov 7, 2014 6:14 PM –
Uwana is a simple app to potentially make impromptu meetings with friends easier (for example quick coffee, dinner tonight, etc.) Simply set the time and invite people then they will receive notifications. Will this app replace the back and forth hassle of texting and calling? Find out in this review.
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5
Pros & Cons:
- Nice and user interface!
- Potentially setup quick meetings with friends.
- Really basic app with neat UI but lacking functionality.
- Opinion: only 12 hour max window for meetings.

Uwana is intended to make quick meetings such as asking friend(s) to have a coffee with you. For the best experience, all participants must have the app installed, then verify the device phone number with a code sent via text message. If a participant does not have the app installed already, they can receive alerts and reply via text message. From there a tutorial will walk you through the process to send invites.
The steps are really easy… just enter a title… Then wind the clock to the time in the future you want to meet. Please note: there is only a 12 hour max window for meetings, I personally do not find this ideal. For example, say it is 4 in the afternoon and you want to invite someone for an 8am coffee… then you cannot use this app as it caps at 4am. 🙁 Thus, you resort to the normal channels of text messaging or calling- which this app aims to streamline. 😕 Next, you invite friends in your contact list- assuming they have the app installed they will receive a notification. They will have a one-tap option to confirm or decline the meeting. Changing the location is a matter of typing a new one and not actually changing a physical or GPS location within the app; this is how you propose a location change- slide the dial to propose a change in time.
