Upcoming Battle Pass and Buddy System in League of Legends: Wild Rift
If you’re a veteran MOBA player, you might be already familiar with the in-game Battle Pass that exclusively grants a player with champions, items, lucky boxes, and emotes. Even though Riot Games League of Legends PC doesn’t have any Battle Pass at the moment, it seems like Riot might be planning to introduce one in the mobile version of the title.
Well, we’re sure you must have played other 5v5 MOBA titles in the past. But, if you haven’t, we will walk you through some of the titles that already have the concept of Battle Pass. Globally popular MOBA titles like Moonton’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Tencent Games’ Arena of Valor (AoV) have this Battle Pass concept where the players can obtain in-game rewards. Usually, there are two types of Battle Pass:
- Free Battle Pass: In this, players don’t have to pay any money. Yet, they can obtain basic in-game items like a champion, a decent skin, some casual in-game emotes, and stuff like that by increasing their Battle Pass level.
- Paid Battle Pass: In the paid version, players can obtain legendary/ultimate champion skins, a ton of exciting in-game content, and get additional benefits compared to the free Battle Pass. However, the paid Battle Pass costs around $10 to $15.
Considering the price model of other 5v5 MOBA titles, the price for Wild Rift’s Battle Pass (if it comes) will be approximately the same. Riot Games has not said anything about the Battle Pass yet so, nothing is confirmed.
Will we get to see Battle Pass in Wild Rift soon?
As per leaked images of an in-game screen from Wild Rift’s Chinese version, Battle Pass might be a thing in the future. Like other MOBA titles, there will be a free and a paid version of the Battle Pass. Here are some of the rewards that could be included in the Battle Pass:
- Blue Motes
- Chests (Champion or Skin Chest)
- Poro Coins
Reportedly, Riot Games might also be working on introducing Battle Pass in League of Legends PC in the upcoming Season 12.
Be My Buddy: The Buddy System in Wild Rift?
The Buddy/Friend System in League of Legends: Wild Rift might be slightly different from what we saw in Arena of Valor. In LoL Wild Rift, when you’re going to play with your friend, an ‘intimacy’ icon will be displayed near the champion portrait. This icon will showcase one of the following three titles:
Interestingly, players can increase the Buddy System points by playing more games together or by gifting champions/skins/items to each other. Remember that Riot Games has not said anything officially about the Battle Pass or the Buddy System. Maybe both of them are still under work? Well, we’ll eventually find out when Wild Rift’s first official ranked season begins in January 2021.
Moreover, you can now play League of Legends: Wild Rift on PC with a keyboard and mouse via BlueStacks!
