League of Legends: Wild Rift – ‘Dev Diary’ December 2020


If you’re also sick of playing the same champions again and again in League of Legends: Wild Rift, then we’ve got some good news for you. In December’s dev diary, the developers at Riot Games revealed several details about what’s coming to the game with the next update. Apart from the beta regions expanding with the next update, new in-game content (champions & skins) will also be making its way to Wild Rift. Let us cover some of the important stuff that was talked about in the dev diary for you all.
First things first, LoL Wild Rift’s open beta will be expanding to regions like Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Russia and CIS, Turkey, Oceania, Taiwan, and Vietnam on December 8. However, the game will be available from December 10 on both Android and iOS devices.
New Champions
Devs confirmed that three new champions would be made available to the players: Darius, Draven, and Wukong. Moreover, Darius and Draven will be available via a canon lore event titled ‘Noxian Brotherhood’ where players have to participate and complete in-game missions to get Noxian accessories and one champion out of the two. Also, Wukong, the Monkey King would probably be obtainable with 5500 blue motes or 725 wild cores.

Apart from these three champions, seven champion skins will also be coming with the new update. These are:
- Academy Darius
- High Noon Darius
- Primetime Draven
- Soul Reaver Draven
- Queen Ashe
- Steel Legion Garen
- Volcanic Wukong
Wild Rift – Season’s Rewards
As per Riot, open beta ranked season will be ending soon. Players will be given rewards based on the highest rank that they managed to reach before season end. Interestingly, players will also receive lobby emblem based on their highest rank in open beta ranked season.
Riot’s Future Plans for LoL Wild Rift
From 2021, Riot Games is planning on simultaneous events, announcements, and shared thematics for both League of Legends PC and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Additionally, the first official ranked season will be starting sometime in January 2021.
Also, several other events will also be coming to the game in the nearby future that will introduce new champions to the game. Allegedly, Teemo will be one of them as he was teased at by Riot in their last official Wild Rift trailer.
YouTube Live Experience – The Battle of the Baron
To celebrate the expansion of Wild Rift’s open beta to the new regions, Riot Games is planning to come up with a YouTube live experience titled ‘The Battle of the Baron’ for Wild Rift fans and players across the globe. Allegedly, this will all be all about a cinematic experience that revolves around the story of Baron Nashor’s origin in League of Legends. Riot has told fans to keep their eyes wide open in the coming days and that they would not want to miss this.
Undoubtedly, a lot is in store for the Wild Rift community in the coming days. However, according to Riot, players from India, North America, and South America will get their hands on Wild Rift by spring 2021.
