League of Legends: Wild Rift – Wild Pass and Preference-based Queue System Coming in April

We’ve got some good news today for League of Legends: Wild Rift fans and players around the world. The much-awaited preference-based queue system for ranked games is finally going to arrive in the game. Moreover, a new “Wild Pass” will also be added to the game to reward players with exciting in-game stuff. Both of these were mentioned in the latest developers’ diary. They are expected to arrive in the game sometime in April. Check this out!

Queue System for Ranked like League of Legends PC

If you’re a veteran League of Legends on PC player, you know that you can queue up for two roles for your ranked games. And from the looks of it, you will be able to do the same in League of Legends: Wild Rift once the new update goes live. Additionally, you can also opt for not picking any role, aka the Auto-Fill option. It will automatically allot you with a role depending on your recently played roles and performance in those roles.

It won’t go live immediately as there will be a testing phase for a few days in which players will find a different option to rank up with this preference-based role queue system. After a few days of testing, this reference-based role queue system will be taken up live. Interestingly, if you play your ranked games with this feature, all your stats, match history, results, or event progress will be taken over once this feature is live.

Since it’s a new feature, players from the Americas region will have to wait longer to give this preference-based role queue system a go. Wild Rift community asked the devs to implement this system a long time back, and they have finally delivered at last.

Royale Pass Lookalike “Wild Pass”

The Wild Pass (similar to Battle Pass in Battle Royale games) will be available once Ranked Season 2 kicks-off in April. There will be two versions of the Wild Pass: the free one and the paid one known as “Wild Pass Elite” (Can be purchased with Wild Cores). Through Wild Pass, players can earn in-game stuff and currency while leveling up at the same time. Here’s what you can earn from the Wild Pass in Wild Rift:

  1. Skins
  2. Currency (Wild Cores)
  3. Emotes
  4. Player Icons
  5. Bobbles
  6. Other cosmetic upgrades

Interestingly, players who will reach level 50 in the Wild Pass will earn an exclusive “Hexplorer Jax” skin. To increase their levels in the Wild Pass, players will have to play normal or ranked games. If you want to level up quickly, there will be an option to upgrade to Wild Pass Elite to give you access to bonus missions to earn more XP. It will cost around 400 Wild Cores to upgrade to Wild Pass Elite. But, look at the bright side; you will get to level 5 as soon as you purchase it. As per Riot Games, more details about it will be revealed shortly.

It seems like there’s a lot in store for the Wild Rift community in April 2021.
