Now You Can Stream to Facebook Live
Sabrina Li, Product Manager
September 21, 2016
SUMMARY You can now stream to Facebook Live directly from BlueStacks, share anything with your family and friends.

Release Version: 2.5.55.6279

By integrating Facebook Live, we hope to give you another, very different option. Unlike streaming to Twitch, when you stream to Facebook Live you can choose to be seen by only your friends and family. Because of this more personal audience, we believe you can truly show off yourself. Have a hidden talent for the ukulele, or want to share your grandmother’s pasta recipe? Share anything and everything to Facebook Live.

Before you try it out, here are some special additions we’ve made to make streaming to Facebook Live from BlueStacks the best experience possible.

Seamless & Fully Connected to Facebook

Just as you can fully customize who you want to see your posts on Facebook, we’ve brought that ability into BlueStacks TV. Want to stream to your timeline, your friend’s timeline, or even the Facebook page you own? This type of customization is all possible inside this BlueStacks TV, along with many other advanced options.

Customizable Stream Layouts

Layouts is one of my top favorite parts of this release. With over 50% of Facebook users only viewing from mobile, we wanted to optimize viewing for those audiences. You may notice that Facebook Live streams only display in square layouts, this is because we’re optimizing viewing space on mobile!

Inside of the Layouts Selector, you can choose what you want to emphasize. Sharing your kitchen tips? Maybe only show your webcam. Want to show the exact details of that recipe? Focus on the app. Change your layout at anytime, before or while live.

Integrated Facebook Comments and Likes

From our integration with Twitch, we learned that many BlueStacks TV streamers love seeing their chat right next to their gameplay. We brought this feature over to Facebook Live, including both chat and likes. Now you can see who is liking your live stream without having to open up your web browser.

Hands-free Streaming

By allowing you to stream to Facebook Live from your computer, we’re excited to open new opportunities for what you can share on stream. Simply place your computer anywhere in your home. Don’t feel constrained by how far away you can hold your phone or by propping it somewhere precarious to get a wider shot. See who is liking and commenting on your video in larger form rather than on a small phone screen. We’re eagerly awaiting to hear what use cases you come up with!
