League of Legends: Wild Rift introduces Rengar, Kha’Zix in latest patch
League of Legends: Wild Rift has so far introduced Galio The Colossus and Rammus The Armordillo into the Wild Rift realm with patch 2.2 and subsequent sub-patches. Now, two more Champions have been released in patch 2.2b along with several other new arrivals, changes and more!
Rengar The Pridestalker
The first of two Champions making their way into the pool as a result of patch 2.2b is Rengar, the Pridestalker. Set to be released on the 6th of May at 0001 Hours UTC, Rengar is a heavy damage dealer and the melee Champion is usually selected to be played in the Jungle or at Top lane.
Rengar is a pure hunter and an assassin and loves to hunt without any desire for food or glory but purely for the beauty and thrill of the pursuit.
“Prey on the weak and you may survive. Prey on the strong and you will truly live” – Rengar lives by this motto as he scours the world for the most powerful beasts alive, not to mention Kha’Zix, the void creature that scratched out his eye, in pursuit of battles and the thrill of it.
Kha’Zix The VoidReaver
If Rengar is a pure hunter, Kha’Zix is no less. Born from the void, Kha’Zix is a Champion with constant evolution at the core of its abilities, always searching for new ways to hunt creatures that it cannot eliminate normally.
‘KIll, Consume, Adapt’ is Kha’Zix’s motto and it is driven by this very sentence to continuously evolve itself and its hunting ways.
Kha’Zix will be released on May 6 at 0001 Hours UTC and will forever be hunted by Rengar till they face off in a battle for the ages. Kha’Zix is a jungler, with most of its abilities being magically driven, making the Champion dependent on its mana pool.
Masters of The Hunt and Nemesis Duel
It only makes sense to have an event tailored around the lore of Rengar and Kha’Zix, with the two Champions being released together. Rengar and Kha’Zix are not just masterful hunters and assassins but also sworn enemies. Rengar’s wounds are still fresh from the time Kha’Zix scratched its eyes out and the Pridestalker is looking to restore its pride by defeating Kha’Zix, who on the other hand is looking at Rengar as another potential trophy of the hunt.
Masters of The Hunt witnesses the battle between two natural-born hunters who have taken over the jungles of Wild Rift and the event is assisted by the introduction of a new battle system known as the Nemesis Duel.
Rengar sees Kha’Zix as its nemesis, which fits the narrative of the Nemesis Duel. The feature is a permanent addition and is set to continue even after the culmination of the Masters of the Hunt event.
A Nemesis Duel can be triggered when both the Champions are at least Level 13, alive, at least 16 units apart from each other and have not taken or yielded damage to anyone in the last five seconds of the game. Whenever a Nemesis Duel is triggered, an announcement will be made in the game and one champion wins when the other dies within 3 seconds of it taking a hit from the other champion. The first installation of the Nemesis Duel is The Hunt is On featuring Rengar and Kha’Zix. If Rengar wins, Rengar automatically gains Ferocity during (Ult) Thrill of the Hunt. If Kha’Zix wins, Kha’Zix gains an extra evolution point.
New Skins and Accessories
Another sleuth of skins have been added to the store – Forecast Janna, Program Nami, God-King Darius, God-King Garen, Death Blossom Kha’Zix and Night Hunter Rengar.
