League of Legends: Wild Rift Introduces Pool Party Event and Theme in Patch 2.3a
Patch 2.3a in League of Legends: Wild Rift does not feature the release of any new Champion into the pool but an entire pool party event along with several balancing changes, gameplay changes, spell changes and more!
Pool Party event
The Pool Party event has been released into the League of Legends Wild Rift world on the 17th of June and will run till the end of the day on the 26th of June. The Pool Party event will have three recurring daily missions that earn the players XP. The ‘Jump In’ mission warrants players to win a game for 2 XP and 1 XP each for missions ‘Grab A Buddy’ – Play a game in a premade party and ‘Suit Up’ – Someone in the premade party or lobby, including you, uses a pool party skin. Players can earn up to 4XP on a daily basis, with the different XP milestones yielding rewards.
Players will receive the ‘Sun’s out Guns out’ icon upon earning 3 XP, 3 Team Boosts at 6 XP, 100 Blue Motes at 9, 20 Poro Coins at 12 and ultimately the Pool Party Pose Selection Chest at 15 XP. The Pool Party Pose Selection Chest contains one of the following:
- Pool Party Fiora Pose
- Pool Party Lee Sin Pose
- Pool Party Leona Pose
- Pool Party Lulu Pose
- Pool Party Orianna Pose
- Pool Party Renekton Pose
- Fiora Pose
- Lee Sin Pose
- Leona Pose
- Lulu Pose
- Orianna Pose
- Renekton Pose
Skins and Accessories
Pool Party Fiora, Pool Party Lee Sin, Pool Party Leona, Pool Party Lulu, Pool Party Orianna and Pool Party Renekton are the skins releasing on the 17th of June. The Galaxy Slayer Zed skin will be releasing on the 24th of June.
As far as accessories are concerned, the ‘Sun’s out Guns out’ icon has been released and is available as a reward during the Pool Party event. Three emotes – I’m on Duty, Mullet Over and Too Cool for Pool – have also been added in line with the pool party theme and the ensuing event.
Ahri, Evelynn, Janna and Katarina have been nerfed while buffs have been handed to the likes of Leona, Wukong and Xin Zhao. Ahri’s Base damage has been reduced to 30; Evelynn’s Ultimate, Late Caress now applies 250% execute damage only to champions; Janna’s Zephyr has had its damage decreased at all levels while for Katarina, the damage done from the nerf is more. Katarina’s Voracity witnesses a decrease in Level based AP Ratio to be between 0.48 to 0.9 while her ultimate, Death Lotus, now sets Katarina’s base movement speed to 125 when spinning instead of being treated as a slow that could be reduced by slow resistance.
Leona’s Zenith Blade has received a slight buff, with its range increased to 8; Wukong’s Crushing Blow now heals the champion for 80% of the damage dealt while hitting minions and Xin Zhao’s base statistics have been buffed, with the Base Magic Resistance increased to 38 along with the Health gained per level-up being raised to 115 from 105.
Bami’s Cinder and Sunfire Aegis have both had their damage against non-champions nerfed, with minion and monster damage modification halved to 25%. Winter’s Approach grants the Champion 12 Mana instead of 8.
For Summoner spells, Ignite’s cast range is increased to 6 while Smite now has a passive effect, restoring 4 mana per second while in jungle or river.
The Outer Tower gold reward has been reworked, with gold per plate now buffed to 150 from 100 while the Global Gold reward on destruction has been reduced to 100.
The Jungle has also received some love in patch 2.3a, with Gromp’s Health decreased by 300 basis points to be 2200 while Krug’s Health has also been reduced to 500, with Ancient Krug’s Health now standing at 1200 compared to the pre-patch Health 1600.
Miscellaneous and Free Champion Rotation
The patch has also fixed a bug regarding champion points. Now, when players reach their champion points limit for their rank, they will neither lose nor gain points after winning a game.
Free-to-Play Champion Rotation (Jun 24 – Jun 30): Braum, Corki, Darius, Evelynn, Katarina, Kha’Zix, Leona, Malphite, Seraphine, Xayah
