League of Legends: Wild Rift – Lunar Beast Skins Revealed and SEA Icon Series Tournament Announced
The first-ever open-for-all summer season is finally going to be held in League of Legends: Wild Rift. Today, Riot Games SEA revealed the upcoming SEA Icon Series and further stated that “this series will be a crucial step in laying the foundation for Wild Rift eSports in the region.”
However, in the beginning, there will be a pre-season phase (five-weekends long) for the Icon Series starting February 26 onwards. It will feature different tournaments in the following seven countries:
- The Philippines
Moreover, Riot Games SEA is partnering with ESL Asia, Cyber Games Arena, Mineski, One Up, VNG, and Eliphant to bring the LoL Wild Rift Icon Series. The image posted below shows the schedule for the upcoming pre-season phase of the Icon Series.
Some of the Wild Rift teams from their respective regions got a direct invite to the tournament. They are:
- From Malaysia: TODAK and Berjaya Dragons.
- From Indonesia: Onic and Alter Ego.
- From the Philippines: RRQ PH, Bren Esports, and Team Secret.
- From Taiwan: ONE Team, Flash Wolves, and TXO.
- From Thailand: King of Gamers Club.
- From Singapore: The Alliance.
- From Vietnam: Saigon Phantom, V Gaming, and SBTC Esports.
After the pre-season phase of tournaments is over, the primary summer season will kick-off. It will be an eight-week long tournament, and any team from the seven regions mentioned above can take part in it. The best teams from each region will then qualify for pan-regional tournaments to compete for the best team’s title in South-East Asia.
