League of Legends: Wild Rift Patch 2.3b Adds Lucian, Senna to Champions pool; to Release Sentinels of Light Event
League of Legends Wild Rift received its newest patch update, version 2.3b, with the new update adding Lucian and Senna as two new Champions into the Champion pool while also releasing the Sentinels of Light event in connection to the Ruination cinematics released. Let us take a look at what patch 2.3b entails:
Meet your Marksman: Lucian the Purifier
The release notes accompany Lucian the Purifier with this lore: “Lucian, a Sentinel of Light, is a grim hunter of undying spirits, pursuing them relentlessly and annihilating them with his twin relic pistols. After the wraith Thresh slew his wife, Lucian embarked on the path of vengeance—but even with her return to life, his rage is undiminished. Merciless and single-minded, Lucian will stop at nothing to protect the living from the long-dead horrors of the Black Mist.”
As far as the meta is concerned, Lucian is a Marksman that can be played as a top, middle and on the bot lane as well. The ranged champion is not too dependent on his abilities but has some unique ones that aids his cause. Lightslinger is a passive ability that produces an additional attack after a basic attack. Piercing Light sees Lucian fire a laser in a line and damage the enemies in it. Ardent Blaze marks enemies hit by it for 6 seconds and enables Lucian and his teammates to gain movement speed if they damage the marked enemies. Relentless Pursuit enables Lucian to dash in a specific direction while his ultimate, The Culling, is a channeling ability that will channel upto 3 seconds, resulting in shots being fired in the target direction dealing physical damage. The champion will be available from July 9, 2021 UTC 00:01.
The Sentinel Support: Senna the Redeemer
According to the official release notes: “Cursed from childhood to be haunted by the supernatural Black Mist, Senna joined a sacred order known as the Sentinels of Light, and fiercely fought back—only to be killed, her soul imprisoned in a lantern by the cruel wraith Thresh. But refusing to lose hope, within the lantern Senna learned to use the Mist, and reemerged to new life, forever changed. Now wielding darkness along with light, Senna seeks to end the Black Mist by turning it against itself—with every blast of her relic weapon, redeeming the souls lost within.”
Keeping the lore aside, Senna is a support and hence, is playable at the bot lane mostly. Senna’s basic attacks have a chance of getting in a critical strike. Absolution is an innate ability that allows Senna to gather additional gold. Absolution can cause enemy units that die nearby to spawn a Mist Wraith, increased to 2 for epic monsters that last 8 seconds and yield 8 gold. Piercing Darkness sees Senna fire a laser in a line, healing herself and teammates while dealing physical damage to enemies while applying a 100% lifesteal on damage. Last Embrace engulfs the target in Black Mist, dealing physical damage, rooting them and enemies nearby after a duration. Curse of the Black Mist enables Senna to use camouflage to obscure the enemies’ vision. Her ultimate, Dawning Shadow, fires two waves of spectral light, dealing damage to enemies hit by it. The champion will be available from July 9, 2021 from UTC 00:01.
Event: Sentinels of Light
As Ruination begins, the Sentinels of Light event has been announced, coinciding with the release of Lucian and Senna, two champions that are part of the Sentinels of Light. In this event, the Sentinels of Light will have to defeat the Ruination, with more details set to be released soon. A Sentinels Outpost has also been teased recently.

The True Damage Senna and Hired Gun Lucian skins will be added to the game along with the addition of the two new champions – Senna and Lucian respectively. Reworking the Resolve: Second Wind Rune
The Resolve: Second Wind rune was proving to be just too strong and had a bug that made it even stronger for melee champions. The rework balances both. To start, the passive health regeneration has been nerfed to now regenerate 5 Health Points every 5 seconds while the tooltip has been fixed in the following way. After taking damage from a champion, the rune will help the champions regenerate 3 + 1.5% missing health over 10 seconds (doubled for melee champions). The line previously read 6 + 3%, which when doubled was proving to be just too much for melee champions.
The 4G/Wi-Fi Dual Connection feature is back from the workshop after being reworked and tested for a bit. Toggling this feature on will enable users to have a smoother experience as the game utilizes both mobile data and any available Wi-Fi connections simultaneously.
The tooltips have also been fixed. Smite’s tooltip now correctly reflects its mana regeneration property. Evelynn’s Ultimate tooltip should now reflect that it only deals bonus damage to champions.
