The main issue players will encounter early on when they play Omniheroes is the importance of building a powerful team. With so many characters in the game, it’s not enough just to have a team full of 5-star heroes that can deal a ridiculous amount of damage. Even the highest damage output team can easily get outsustained by a properly-built team since they have a proper balance of offense, defense, and support. Understanding how that works will give you a better chance to climb high-level content.

Omniheroes - Teambuilding Guide

Building a balanced team in Omniheroes requires knowledge of the heroes’ different roles and attributes. Each hero contains exclusive attributes that work well when combined with heroes of completely different ones. We already touched on this topic in our Beginner’s Guide, so check out if you need more information on the basics. Other than those, the only thing you need to do is search for powerful units and try to assemble a team according to this teambuilding guide.

Faction Bonuses

Each hero belongs to a certain faction associated with their identity. These heroes aren’t just cosmetic to the lore, they are also relevant in terms of how you build your team. Having two or more characters from the same faction on your team will unlock certain bonuses that will improve your capabilities in combat. The easiest way to build a powerful team early in Omniheroes is to simply put 3 or more heroes from the same faction in a team together to gain a ridiculous buff to your stats.

In the later stages of the game, it’s not as important to have a full team from one faction. However, it’s always good to have at least 2 pairs of characters from the same faction so that your squad will gain combat bonuses that will improve their capabilities. Having a squad with only one or no faction bonuses can make your team extremely weak despite having good character. Remember that it’s not always good just to slap the heroes you think are strong and think that it’ll give you a massive advantage.

Roles & Positions

Omniheroes’ characters have specific roles associated with their class. The main roles in the game are tank, support, warrior, and mage. Tanks are characters who have good defenses and high HP that are often placed in the front since they will protect the entire team from being taken down in one shot. Support characters focus on assisting the team by healing them or providing buffs that will increase their combat capabilities. There are often 2 frontline tanks and 1 support for each team.

The Warrior class is a general term used to classify all heroes that deal physical damage. This means that there can be melee warriors and ranged warriors. Physical damage is important since it modifies normal attacks instead of relying on abilities. Mages are extremely powerful since they can cast high-damage spells but it can take a few turns before they unleash their powerful abilities. Warriors supplement the weakness of the mage so that your team doesn’t end up having suboptimal DPS.

Skills & Abilities

Skills and abilities are also important when trying to build your team in Omniheroes. Even though all heroes are distinct, it can’t be helped that some heroes have similar roles and purposes in a team because they share almost identical skills and abilities. For example, you can have two tanks in the team but if both have abilities that shield the entire team, it might end up being a complete waste because these abilities won’t stack over each other well at the early stages of the fight.

It’s important to have a distinct set of heroes on your team that do separate things during a fight. This is especially true for DPS characters since some units share synergies with each other by stacking debuffs and increasing the efficiency of their own damaging skills by having those debuffs active. It’s generally a good idea to read up on the different abilities of each of your 4-star and above characters so that you have a good idea of how you can maximize their potential in teambuilding.

Equipment Distribution

Distributing your gear amongst your heroes properly is also an important part of teambuilding. In the early stages of the game, this might not be as important because common gear drops abundantly so all your team members will have equal stat sources. However, you’ll soon notice that higher-level stages and challenges will drop rare pieces of equipment that can be perfect for certain characters. A common mistake that beginners make is placing all of their best equipment to their best character.

A good practice is to distribute equipment according to its stats. For example, equipment that gives more defenses and HP might be better on tank characters who keep the entire team alive rather than placing it on one character that’s trying to keep itself alive. Crit items go better on ranged warriors and magic damage items go better on mages. Always read the secondary stats of your rare equipment and give it to the hero that will contribute more to the team when they hold it.

Hero Rarity

It is still an unfortunate truth that players need to use hero rarity are the primary attribute when building a team. Omniheroes made sure that 5-star characters are extremely useful since they often have better abilities and higher base stats than 4-star characters. If you have a fully-leveled and advanced 4-star character, it would still be worth adding a basic 5-star character because of its innate value that improves the quality of your team in this game.

It’s still important to follow all of the tips that we mentioned in this article. All that we’re saying is that if you’re choosing between adding a 4-star upgraded ranged warrior and a freshly-pulled 5-star melee warrior, it might be better to add the latter since it will contribute more to the team and is a great investment into the future.
