Revised Korean Bible.

Q: There are parts in the New Testament that are marked as (not) . Why are these parts there?
When I look up Matthew 17:21, there is no text where the text should be, and instead, there are parentheses and the words "Verse 21 not found" are written in those parentheses. And there is an instruction to look at the marginal note 1. Following that instruction, if you look at the marginal note 1, it says, "Some manuscripts have verse 21 [This kind goes out not except by prayer and fasting]." This is a later manuscript that added it from Mark 9:29.

Chapter 18, verse 11 is also missing, and the marginal note says, "Some manuscripts have verse 11 [For the Son of Man came to save the lost]." This is a later manuscript that added it from Luke 19:10.

The part that says "-no verse" is a text that is not in ancient manuscripts. It is a text that is not in papyrus manuscripts from around the 3rd century or uncial manuscripts from the 4th or 5th century. It is a text that is only in minuscule manuscripts from around the 11th century.

Since the 11th century manuscripts separated the verses and gave them unique numbers, in the case of verses that were not in the previous ancient manuscripts, only the verses were omitted, and the verse numbers were left as they were, and this "-no verse" mark appeared. The 11th century manuscripts are enlarged manuscripts. The enlargements are not from somewhere else, but from related passages in the Bible. Therefore, if you look at the text that was added in the marginal notes with the "-no verse" mark, you can easily see that it is not an unfamiliar text at all.
