Run Probabilités on PC or Mac

Multitask effortlessly on your PC or Mac as you try out Probabilités, a Education app by Christophe Auclair on BlueStacks.

About the App

Probabilités is a hands-on classroom companion for exploring chance and data in a clear, visual way. Built for guided lessons rather than solo study, it helps students see how probabilities behave, test ideas, and read results like a young statistician. It’s an Education app by Christophe Auclair designed for middle school and early high school lessons.

App Features

  • Classroom-first design: Intended for use with a teacher as part of a lesson sequence, so activities flow naturally from demonstration to discussion.
  • Simulation lab: Model classic experiments—dice, coins, card draws, urns with colored balls, and a customizable spinner—to introduce probability through frequencies.
  • Tons of trials: Run 1, 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000, or even 100,000 trials, then stack runs to build cumulative results and compare outcomes.
  • Live results: Watch tables and charts update in real time, making it easy to spot patterns and talk about convergence, variability, and outliers.
  • Dice and variants: Roll 6-, 8-, or 12-sided dice with one tap, switch to multiple dice, and even try Sicherman dice to see unexpected distributions.
  • Coins, fair or biased: Flip 1–3 coins and tweak fairness to explore how small changes affect long-run frequencies and short-run surprises.
  • Urns and spinners: Set up draws with up to four colors or build a spinner with multiple colored sectors to match textbook scenarios.
  • Card draws: Simulate pulls from a standard deck to connect theory with quick experiments students can verify.
  • Practice sets: Tackle 10-question mixes that touch Scratch-style algorithms, geometry contexts, two-way and frequency tables, urn problems, spinners, letters boards, card draws, and reading bar graphs.
  • Two-event scenarios: Work through focused cases—successive coin tosses, a funfair game, a customer service setup, and “Dress in Black”—to reason about combined events.
  • Problem bank to reflect: Investigate six classic challenges—Grand Duke of Tuscany paradox, Monty Hall, Free-tile game, Monte Carlo method, a beetle wandering on a cube’s edges, and a signs/maps game—by playing, simulating, then calculating exact probabilities.
  • Great on a big screen: If you prefer projecting from a computer, you can run Probabilités with BlueStacks for easier viewing during class discussions.
