Speaker 1:
Hello, my name is Koopa and I’m here with streamer academy to tell you guys about viewer loyalty. What is that? What are you talking about? Viewer loyalty is when someone finds your stream, and they like your stream enough to actually come back and watch it a second time and a third time, basically forever as long as you’re creating content. They’re gonna be open minded with you regardless of the game that you’re playing. If you decide to do other things outside of Twitch, whether it’s Youtube or other adventures, it’s gonna be someone that they’re gonna want to be a part of anything going on in your life.

This is basically, it’s the perfect person that you would want to be watching you. There’s a lot of people that get sucked into a certain genre of games or a certain style game, or just the game by itself. They can’t stream anything else unless it’s that game. They’ll notice a very large influx or change or decrease in viewership when they’re streaming certain games. Because of that, they might be locked into streaming something they don’t enjoy. Let’s talk about one thing you can do as a streamer or as a content creator.

One major thing that you can do with your viewers is to be playing the games that they play. You probably have your own game that you prefer when you first started streaming, and that’s great and then when you’re actually playing though, with your viewers, that’s a huge thing. It’s their favorite thing for a viewer to be playing with the person they’re watching. If they get a chance to do that, they are yours forever. If a game has friend lists, make sure you take advantage of this. Take advantage of the chance to get to know your viewers better. To really get a chance to build relationships. When you build those relationships and get a chance to even talk with them off-stream, it’s a genuine experience. That’s really going to … they’ll watch you do anything you want. They’ll stay with you forever regardless of the game that your playing. You might actually make a good friend out of it too.

Another really good way to create viewer loyalty is by utilizing social media. Everyone’s gonna have a different social media that works best for them. For me, it’s twitter. It just seems to get the most followers converted out of my twitch stream into a social media platform. I first tried Facebook, didn’t work, tried Twitter, and I got a lot more followers so I’ve been sticking with that. When you’re tweeting out, when you’re interacting, whether you’re posting for your stream or random comments or interacting with communities, make sure that when you are getting followers and your followers are tweeting at you whether it’s into a tweet or out of nowhere, check your notifications and make sure you respond.

Build those relationships and make sure your actually interacting with them. When you get a chance to do that … it’s a really special experience for someone to actually get to have this kind of one on one engaging experience with you out of stream. These people really appreciate that. Make sure you’re not just ignoring everyone in your notifications when you’re doing the scroll and seeing everything here. Take a chance to actually hit some of these people back. You never know, you might make a good friend out of that as well.

While we’re on the topic of viewer loyalty, let’s talk about a few more topics before we wrap up this video. When someone watches someone on Twitch, I choose to go the more genuine and transparent route. There’s all different sorts of identities that you could portray as a content creator. Some people act the entire time and they create this persona and that’s how they build their content. I myself, I try to be myself. That’s how I’m able to do this and how I’m able to interact and relate to so many people, my viewers. I feel like that’s the special bond that I share with my viewers and my followers. They know who I am and it’s very transparent because of that. Make sure you have this idea of how you want your persona to be in your stream as well. They will be loyal to you for that. Stay consistent with it.

Going off of the consistency, is you want to be consistent with your streams too. Make sure, if you really want to have someone keep coming back to your stream, make sure you are on a regular schedule. We’ve talked about this, have a good schedule so that if you are streaming on a regular basis, that’s gonna get them coming back, getting them back into your stream as well. If you’re only streaming once a week, or a couple times a week and it’s sporadic and it’s all over the place, they might not even be able to watch your stream. If they can’t watch your stream how do they get to know you? If they can’t get to know you and communicate with you, how can they learn to build that relationship with you and if they can’t even build a relationship to you, they’re not gonna be loyal.

That’s about all I have for viewer loyalty guys. I hope that this was an informative and a helpful video with Streamer Academy. Like always, we’ll see you in the next video.
