Speaker 1:
So let’s talk about what game companies look for in streamers. Now I’ll talk from my own personal experience. I find that game developers find my channel and they are suddenly magnetized to the energy behind the community while I’m playing my game.

I’m trying to choose my words carefully here, because you have to understand from a company perspective, from a dev perspective, when they enter that room and they see this community, this chat room just freaking out, flipping out, and just with me, we’re just riding the wave, and they see that, that’s a goal that they want their game to perform at. That’s a level of excitement that they know their game can produce that they would love to see reenacted when you’re in their game, in their community. When you’re filling the shoes for their game and they see people freaking out, hype, and just whole heartedly having a great time, having a great time. That’s what these guys are seeking for. They’re seeking for a content producer that can have people live vicariously through their content.

In order to make that happen, you have to have great quality. You have to represent yourself well. All of your brand has to be on point-your twitter, your social medias, everything has to look good. Because it’s not just about how good you can commentate, how great you can play a game. It’s how you pitch it. It’s how you sell it.

This just leads into the conversation of professionalism. When you’re ready to take on a job, understand that you don’t want to waste the company’s time, the developers’ time, or your time. Be on time. It’s a job. When you have deadlines, hit them. You guys have conversations, try and respond as swiftly as possible. That brief moment of hesitation? You can lose out on opportunities. Don’t be that guy that kind of comes halfway, not with 100% energy.

Understand that if someone is actively seeking you, they want you for a reason. Or if you’re actively seeking someone else, prove to them, show them that you have the integrity, you have the drive, and you have the ability to get the job done. Push the game, make it look great. Produce great content.

This is what game developers are looking for in streamers, companies are looking for in content creators. You have to be ready to produce and get down to it. You’ve go to be better than the guy next to you.
