Bellweather: The Tuner is a free location-based mystery investigation game and alternate reality experience (ARG). Use the Tuner with your phone's camera and GPS to explore real-world places near you, find signal anomalies, walk around them to capture them in augmented reality (AR), and decode the evidence each one reveals. Read field updates from journalist Vera Liang inside the app, share findings in researcher discussions, and compare evidence with the global community of investigators.

About the investigation

Maren Calloway was tracking strange phenomena before she vanished from Linden Hollow, Ohio, on November 4, 1983. Forty-two years later, journals connected to her work were found hidden in the walls of her home on Bellweather Lane. The Bellweather Project is the public investigation into what she found, and what is happening now in the same places she once mapped.

What you do in the app

- Open the Tuner, walk to a nearby resonance point, and use your camera to find and capture the anomaly that appears there in AR
- Decode the evidence each capture reveals: field notes, recordings, photographs, coordinates, transcripts, ciphers, puzzles, and other clues connected to Maren's research
- Read Vera Liang's ongoing field updates, case files, and blog posts inside the app
- Join researcher discussions, follow live field activity, and compare theories with other investigators
- Some leads can be followed from home; others involve a short walk to a real-world location

About the gameplay style

Bellweather is an alternate reality investigation, so the line between in-app fiction and the real world is part of the experience. Some characters and records you encounter are part of the unfolding story. Some leads come from people who knew Maren. Some witnesses may not be telling the truth. Cross-reference the clues and evidence and decide for yourself.
