ATHENA:Blood Twins is a dark fantasy action-RPG that plunges players into a war-torn world ruled by gods, demons, and the blood of cursed twins. Set in a mythological realm shattered by betrayal and chaos, the game follows the intertwined destinies of two siblings bound by fate and ancient power. Apart from a thorough class system, the game also features an interesting character growth system wherein you can train recruited heroes to enhance combat power. Let’s learn a bit more in detail!

Heroes

Heroes are kind of like your pets that can be deployed in battles. Each hero is unique, and possesses unique active and passive abilities. If you’re familiar with hero-collector or Idle games, you will easily relate to this feature. Heroes come in different rarities, ranging from 2-star being the lowest, and 5-star being the highest. To upgrade a star rank of a lower-rarity hero, you can use their duplicates. Heroes can also be trained and upgraded by increasing their level, level limit, and ascension level.

Heroes are powerful allies that can aid you greatly in battles. They also increase your overall account combat power, so be sure to invest in them. Players can deploy up to 2 different Heroes at a time. Make sure to use 1 DPS type hero, and 1 Supportive hero for the best results. This will give you a more balanced approach. Like we mentioned, you can upgrade your heroes via different processes. We will explore more of them in the coming sections.

Levelling Up

Leveling up is one of the core growth processes in the game to enhance the combat power of your owned heroes. This activity can be performed on all heroes, regardless of their base rarity. Players simply need to select the hero they want to level up from the hero’s menu. Next, you should see a level up button on the main screen. Simply click on it, and the game will automatically use your owned EXP potions to enhance the level to their maximum possible state. This max level depends on the current ascension level of the hero.

Ascension

Ascension is another important growth process that can enhance your heroes’ combat power dramatically. Firstly, to ascend any hero, they must be at their current level limit. Ascension is basically a process to increase the imposed max level limit on any hero. Players will need to use ascension materials to polish the hero’s stats. This process can be done manually or automatically with the help of AI until your hero completes the polishing process. Depending on RNG, this process might consume more or less ascension materials. Keep in mind, the base stats of the hero such as attack, health, and defense also increase once they are ascended on top of their max level limit.

Hero Reset

The hero reset feature can be used to give you back any resources spent on a particular hero. This hero firstly needs to be unlocked and out of any active squads before you can reset them. Resetting any hero reverts them back to level 1 and ascension level 0 but also returns you any spent resources you spent on them before being reverted. Hence, it’s a safe bet option as there might be heroes in the future that you want to replace but don’t have the resources to do so. In such cases, simply re-set the old hero and use the resources gained from it to upgrade the hero you want to replace it with.
