Lost Age: AFK is a mobile role-playing game set in a universe shrouded in darkness, where fallen gods have left the world in despair. Players assume the role of the Sovereign, tasked with uniting scattered heroes to combat the encroaching shadows and uncover the mysteries of the Realm of Origins. If you’re a casual player, you will enjoy the AFK idle progression system, allowing heroes to continue battling and gathering resources even when players are offline. In this beginners guide, we will be explaining the core game mechanics and game modes required to progress. Let’s start!

Understand the Core Gameplay Mechanics of Lost Age: AFK

Lost Age: AFK is an idle game that also features strategic team-building, hero collection, and gacha elements. All of these systems are closely tied in an intricate balance to help players get their favourite heroes without feeling left out. Your core goal is to progress as far as you can in the main story battle stages. Initially, many quality-of-life features will be locked but as you progress, features such as 2X battle speed, auto-battling will be enabled. These features are an amazing addition, especially if you’re a busy person and play games casually on the go.

To dive deeper into the game mechanics, players can build a standard team of 6 distinct heroes. Each hero in the game is unique, as they have powerful active and passive abilities. What’s more? You can grant these heroes different types of boosts by positioning them correctly on the 6 different squares. A good team composition requires a healthy mix of attackers (DPS), healers (Supports), tanks, and crowd-controllers. You can view each hero’s ability in the game, and decide for yourself whether they will be a good addition or not. Sadly, you cannot control your character in real-time battles. Your heroes will automatically use their abilities according to AI (Artificial Intelligence).

Heroes take action when it’s their turn. Same goes for the enemies. Your hero’s turn is decided by their speed stat. Battles can last a maximum of 15 rounds, with a round being defined as the period when all heroes and enemies have taken their turn. Your heroes have a certain amount of health, and if it reaches 0, they will fall in battle.

Pet System

The pet system in Lost Age: AFK is quite engaging and refreshing for an idle game. In short, pets can be hatched from eggs. All players receive a free egg when the system gets unlocked. You need to use a special currency called “Magic Fruit” and feed it to the egg to help it grow and eventually hatch. Magic Fruit can be earned by simply completing main story stages, and participating in events. You can also earn them by challenging the daily pet dungeon.

Players can track the egg development process from the Pet menu. You will also get rewards for certain milestones based on how far the egg has developed. Once the egg hatches, you can use the trusted ally in battles. Pet’s also have access to powerful active abilities that are available on a high cooldown timer.

Earn Rewards when AFK

Being an idle game, the developers themselves want you to reach the mid-end game faster. You can reap resources even when you’re not actively playing the game. Your loot is collected inside a box that fills up in 12 hours. Each hour, a specific amount of loot is added. The quality and quantity of rewards are directly tied to how far you have progressed in the main story campaign stages. Each day, you can receive 120 minutes of extra free resources. However, after the first free try, each consequent 120-minute resource chest costs 50 gems.

Heroes and the Summoning System Explained

Lost Age: AFK features an extensive hero-collection system wherein players can summon for different rarities of heroes. Each hero is assigned a base rarity, with the highest being SSS and the lowest being B. The summoning system of the game allows players to summon on different banners to get new heroes. The probability of summoning heroes is decided by their base rarity. The probabilities are as follows:

  • SSS hero – 0.6% probability of being summoned
  • SS hero – 13.6% probability of being summoned
  • S hero – 19.65% probability of being summoned
  • A hero – 21.72% probability of being summoned
  • B hero – 44.43% probability of being summoned

Do not fret if you are unable to summon a high rarity hero, as the summoning system does offer a pity. Each 10 summons guarantees players at least 1 SS rarity hero. Further, each 100 summons guarantee players at least 1 SSS rarity hero. Players can view their owned heroes from the Hero tab located at the bottom-right hand. Lost Age: AFK follows some classical RPG tropes as it allows you to enhance and upgrade your heroes via different processes. Each hero is given a BR (Battle Rating) that decides their overall power by combing different factors such as equipment, base stats, and other boosts.

Players can enjoy playing Lost Age: AFK on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
