When you play Tale of Elements: Survivors, the first thing you are made to realize is that the game uses a unique character system where all the S tier and below mercenaries don’t have a unique identity in terms of gameplay. Each mercenary has its own biography and stat distribution, but they are all essentially the same with minor differences that don’t matter aside from their class.

In our Teambuilding Guide, players are told about the importance of a mercenary’s rarity when it comes to their importance to the team because high-rarity characters have naturally better stats. In terms of rarity, SP heroes are the highest that a player can acquire in Tale of Elements: Survivors and should be the ones that should be primarily considered. We will be ranking the best SP mercenaries according to their value to the team.

SP Mercenary Tier List

SP mercenaries are unique because they have their own unique aesthetic and identity as compared to the other characters in the game. Naturally, they have better stats and powerful skills. However, not all SP mercenaries are built the same as some just stand out more compared to the other characters in the same division.

All SP mercenaries are powerful in their own right and they all of them are definitely worth adding to your team. However, some of the SP mercenaries simply stand out more compared to the rest. In this tier list, we’ll be ranking the top 6 SP mercenaries in Tale of Elements: Survivors according to their value to the team.

S Tier

The S Tier SP mercenaries are the top dogs of the game and are irreplaceable in terms of their value to the team and should be considered above all other options if the player has the ability to do so. 

• Sharon Aurora

Sharon Aurora is a human nun that is attuned to the element of light. This is the best combination possible for a healer which makes her capabilities unparalleled among the support mercenaries of the SP rarity. Players always want her because she has an incredible defensive and supportive typing that makes it difficult to get rid of her.

Sharon has incredible vigor and is capable of solo healing the entire party. This allows some players to opt-out of having a pure tank altogether because she is capable of keeping the entire team healthy, giving the player more room to build a pure DPS composition that can eliminate threats from the opposing side fairly quickly.

• Favenne Blindeyes

Favenne Blindeyes is an elven ranger that is attuned to the element of nature. She is by far the most powerful DPS character in the game and is an irreplaceable carry to any team. As a ranger, she has access to AoE damage that can put a lot of damage to the entire enemy team, sometimes taking out some important mercenaries in the backline if she manages to land a critical strike.

Her class and element combination isn’t that impressive but her raw stats and burst ability make her not only the best DPS character in her class but also overall. Her talent allows her to cast blind on a random enemy target without fail, making them useless for a few turns. If Favenne manages to target a DPS carry, the chances of winning are increased significantly.

A Tier

The A Tier SP mercenaries are also extremely powerful but have small weaknesses that don’t make them belong among the best units in the game. Nonetheless, they are still at the top of the list and should be used alongside the other units mentioned above.

• Freya Ravenlight

Freya Ravenlight is a human clergyman that is attuned to the element of light. Despite her dark appearance, she has a light attunement that actually makes her stronger defensively. The light element doesn’t have any weaknesses but deals reduced damage to the three primary elements, which is something that tanks don’t have to worry about since they exist primarily to soak damage.

The only issue with Freya Ravenlight is that being a full tank and semi-support means that she’s not compatible with having other healers around since that will cut down the efficiency of the team’s damage output. Nowadays, players prefer having a swordsman or berserker on the frontline over a clergyman if they have mercenaries like Sharon Aurora. Putting that aside, Freya Ravenlight is undoubtedly the best tank in the game and is a menace to deal with in the arena.

• Moore Chaos

Moore Chaos is a barbarian elementalist that is attuned to the element of fire. As an elementalist, she has an extremely high damage output overall. Magic casters are generally favored over physical attackers like rangers and assassins because they are able to nuke the enemy team quickly. Moore has the highest damage stats out of all the elementalist which makes her invaluable to a team looking for high-damage outputs.

The thing that makes Moore Chaos stand out among the rest is her talent, which allows her to gain a 10% damage increase every time a unique skill is used in combat. This means that the longer the fight goes on, the more devastating Moore’s impact will be on the fight. Combining this with an excellent healer like Sharon Aurora means that she always guarantees victory for her team.

B Tier

The B Tier SP mercenaries aren’t the weakest in the bunch, but they are definitely outshined by better units and are usually reliant on other mercenaries to unlock their true potential in combat.

• Hilda Battlescar

Hilda Battlescar is a human berserker that is attuned to the element of dark. As a berserker, she is an excellent unit to place on the frontline if your healer is Sharon Aurora. She deals a ridiculous amount of damage while having a fairly decent amount of bulk to keep her team alive. Berserkers aren’t good frontline nor are they better DPS than rangers, elementalists, or assassins, but they definitely work well when paired with powerful support.

Hilda’s talent is what truly makes her shine. As the fight goes on, Hilda becomes even more powerful and deal more damage to the enemy team. She has a cheat-death mechanic that allows her to stay alive until she performs another action, making her a great frontline unit despite not having natural bulkiness like traditional tanks.

• Olive Redemption

Olive Redemption is an elven wizard that is attuned to the element of dark. Dark is arguably the best offensive element in the game because it deals 150% damage to all of the primary elements aside from light. Wizards are support DPS mercenaries meaning they excel at disrupting the enemy team while dealing moderate damage, which isn’t popular among high-tier players.

The advantage of having Olive Redemption on the team is that her talent allows her to put an enemy to sleep for two turns. Additionally, enemies affected by sleep who are woken up by damage will be stunned for an additional turn. This makes her an extremely powerful disruption mercenary that is extremely useful in the PvP arena.
