Idling Strategies

Idling is the main feature of The Era of Overman: Idle RPG and it is also the main way to earn EXP, gold, jewels, and other resources. However, you must idle strategically to get more resources out of your time. Here are a couple of tips to do while idling.

  • Use buffs – the game has four buffs that temporarily give you advantages: Attack Buff, Drop Gold Buff, Fever Charge Buff, and Game Speed Buff. The most relevant buffs for resource collection are the Drop Gold Buff and Game Speed Buff. Drop Gold Buff doubles the rate at which you earn gold from non-boss enemies. Game Speed Buff multiplies the game’s speed by 1.5. To activate these buffs, you must spend 50 jewels for 60 minutes, 250 jewels for 300 minutes, or watch an ad for 60 minutes. If you have spare jewels, you can also buy the Attack Buff and Fever Charge Buff as these make killing enemies much faster which in turn also increases your earn rate.

  • Save your skills and fever – your overmen’s skills and fever are powerful tools that make them extremely powerful. However, you must disable the auto-use of these tools and save them until you spawn the boss. This is so that you can use all skills and enable fever at once and easily be able to defeat the boss. This is important because defeating the boss gives you huge bonus rewards that you otherwise would not get from normal enemies.

  • Buy the “Ready to Boss Battle” upgrade – when you unlock the research center, you can spend 1,500 jewels to purchase the “Ready to Boss Battle” upgrade. This instantly charges the fever and skill gauges to 100% when a boss battle starts, effectively eliminating the need to save your skills and fever.

Dispatch

Dispatches are a way to earn gold, jewels, loot box tickets, and relics.

Dispatch works by selecting a location from the map and then assigning the required number of overmen to deploy. Afterwards, you must wait a certain amount of time for the dispatch mission to finish. When the game considers at least one of your overmen as having “strong attributes”, then time is shortened by 1.5x. The great thing about dispatch is that the overmen that you deploy can still be used in idling, so you don’t have much to lose by using this feature.

Missions

Missions are like side quests in The Era of Overman: Idle RPG and you can earn many resources by doing them. There are three types of missions, and each type has different objectives and conditions.

  • Repeat Missions – these missions consist of basic tasks like defeating a certain number of normal enemies (Xenoterrans) and leveling up stats a certain number of times. When you complete the tasks, you receive jewels as a reward and proceed to the next mission which has repeated the same task but with a higher requirement.

  • Daily Mission – these missions consist of small tasks like defeating bosses, dispatching overmen, and the like but you only have 24 hours to accomplish these tasks. Completing daily missions can reward you with at least 200 jewels.

  • Achievements – these missions are like milestones that you achieve in the game such as reaching a certain play level, obtaining a certain amount of equipment, and the like. Achievement missions reward you with at least 50 jewels or more depending on the complexity of the achievement. However, achievements do not refresh so when you complete one mission, no more missions come in to take its place.

Part-time Jobs

Doing part-time jobs is another permanent source of income gold income in The Era of Overman: Idle RPG.

There are many part-time jobs that you can unlock by spending job coins. Each job has levels and you earn job coins when you clear a level. When you reach the maximum number of job coins, you unlock the next level. In each active job, you earn a fixed amount of gold for every certain amount of seconds permanently. The amount of time depends on each job. Generally, the longer it takes to earn the gold, the more gold you get out of that job. Note that there is a limit to the amount of gold you can get from jobs per day and you can view the “Maximum per day” rate.

Training Tower

Challenge enemies on each floor of the training tower and earn plenty of rewards.

To enter the training tower, you must first unlock the dungeon by reaching Stage 40. To start fighting enemies in the floors, you must have a Training Tower Admission Ticket. If you do not have tickets, you can purchase one for 300 jewels. For each floor, you can only select one overman to deploy and they must defeat the boss on that floor within one minute to move up to the next floor. Note that each overman has their own training towers. Defeating each boss first grants you a First Clear Reward which consists of equipment tickets, gold, and more admission tickets. You can also replay floors to get Repeat Clear Rewards which consist of equipment tickets, buff card chips, and gold.
