What’s better than using KEF Stream by GP Acoustics International Ltd? Well, try it on a big screen, on your PC or Mac, with BlueStacks to see the difference.
KEF Stream feels like the music sidekick for anyone with LS50 Wireless or LSX speakers. It sends tracks over Wi Fi in full 192 kHz, 24 bit, so high res stuff is not a problem, and it pulls from a local library, a home media server, TIDAL, plus Spotify Connect hands off straight to the speakers. The app stays focused on music while the separate KEF Control app handles speaker settings, which actually keeps things cleaner. Browsing is straightforward, album art looks good, and saving custom playlists is quick, so building a weekend queue does not turn into a project.
On a PC with BlueStacks, it is nice having the bigger screen for digging through a NAS or a big library, and using a mouse to sort or queue tracks just feels easier. Once a song starts, the speakers take the stream, so the app does not get in the way. Small heads up on Apple stuff though. The subscription version of Apple Music does not stream through here, and any iTunes purchases or personal iTunes imports need to be downloaded to the device first before sending to the speakers. If something acts weird, there is a Send Feedback option tucked in Settings under About, which is handy.
BlueStacks gives you the much-needed freedom to experience your favorite apps on a bigger screen. Get it now.
