Joining the fray of AFK and Idle games comes MementoMori: AFKRPG, a new generation Idle RPG that possesses beautifully liquid art style, thematic visuals, and mesmerizing voice acting by professional voice artists. Developed and published by Bank of Innovation INC, MementoMori: AFKRPG has recently launched globally on 18th October 2022. Boasting over 1 million pre-registrations already, players can download and install MementoMori: AFKRPG from both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store as a free-to-play title. The game does include in-game microtransactions for cosmetics and in-game currencies. 

MementoMori: AFKRPG is an AFK game that is going to be more suited to players looking for a casual gaming experience and not a hard-core grindy experience. The audio and visual aspects of the game are the most notable features of the game while the core gameplay itself might be a bit of a disappointment for players expecting a tactical and strategic idle game. MementoMori: AFKRPG has an even lesser amount of gameplay than expected from a usual idle game and the majority of the gameplay is quite story-driven. MementoMori: AFKRPG is a hero collector game that makes use of the gacha system to summon different rarities of witches at different rates. As expected, the best characters have the lowest probability to be summoned while the lowest characters have the highest probability of being summoned. The rates are as follows:

In this tier list for MementoMori: AFKRPG, we will be ranking the best characters in the game according to their usage in different PvP and PvE game modes. Base Stats and Skill value are among the core factors taken into consideration while building this tier list. Naturally, the higher rarity Witches will be ranked higher in the tier list as opposed to the lower rarity Witches due to their superior stats and abilities. We highly recommend players to choose the witches they want to add to their formations according to their requirements and liking, taking inspiration from this tier list. 

S Tier Witches

Let’s take a look at some of the Witches in this tier:

• LR Fenrir

Fenrir is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sorcerer in-game. A girl who longs to be spoiled, but chooses to put her younger sister Cerberus’s wishes and needs first. Fenrir yearns to become stronger to overcome a past tragedy where she failed to protect her sister. But deep down, Fenrir is a timid girl who just wants to cry as someone pets her head. Fenrir’s 1st active ability Snow Wolf’s Fangs is a single targeted damaging ability that deals 490% of her attack as magical damage to the enemy. She also boosts the morale of the allies, decreasing 1 skill cooldown of the adjacent ally. Her 2nd active ability Icicle Shower is a multi-targeted damaging ability that deals with 5 randomly targeted attacks toward the enemy with each hit dealing 230% of her attack as magical damage. She further removes 2 debuffs each from herself and an adjacent ally. Fenrir’s 1st passive skill Snow Prism states that whenever any ally’s HP falls below 50% by an enemy attack, this ability will restore 5% of their HP for 2 turns. This passive can activate 1 time every 2 turns. 

• LR Olivia

Olivia is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Warrior in-game. An innocent girl from a village located in the Duchy of Fran. A Curse summoned creatures that attacked her village, and her magical powers awakened from her desire to save everyone. Olivia helps others without hesitation and is loved by all the friends she has made in the Duke’s domain. Olivia’s 1st active skill Blessing of Courage is an AOE-targeted buffing skill that targets all allies by providing them with Attack and Defense buffs that last for 2 turns each. The Attack and Defense buff scale according to 30% of Olivia’s own Attack and Defense respectively. Her 2nd active ability The Holy Flag Bearer is a multi-targeted damaging ability that throws out 5 hits towards enemies randomly. Each hit deals physical damage equal to 350% of her Attack and further provides a Shield buff for all allies, lasting for 2 turns. The Shield strength is proportional to 40% of the total damage dealt by this skill. Olivia’s 1st passive skill Good Deed’s Reward provides Olivia with a permanent 20% MAX HP increase. This buff cannot be dispelled.

• LR Cordie

Cordie is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sniper in-game. A girl from the Kingdom of Galia. She joined a traveling circus and found fame as a gunslinger, but left to stop the rampaging Curses and bring smiles back to her audience. Cordie basks in the spotlight and loves making people happy, but also finds joy in bewildering others with her words. Cordie’s 1st active skill The Quick & the Dead is a multi-targeted damaging skill that throws out 5 different attacks to 5 enemies at random. Each hit deals 570% of her Attack as physical damage to the targeted enemies. If an enemy dies, Cordie gains 50% Attack buff for 1 turn. Her 2nd active ability Fanning Shots is another multi-targeted damaging skill that throws out 5 different attacks to 5 enemies at random. Each hit deals 390% of her Attack as physical damage to the targeted enemies. If Cordie’s HP is 50% or above while using this skill, the physical damage multiplier will increase by x2. Cordie’s 1st passive ability All Eyes on Me states that Cordie gets a 40% Increased Attack and Defense Break permanently.

• LR Lunalynn

Cordie is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sorcerer in-game. A girl from the Principality of Brook treasures her younger sister, Soltina. To protect her sister, Lunalynn was captured by the Inquisition, but became a witch after succumbing to their cruel torture. She is a Debbie Downer with no self-confidence, and is quick to apologize for anything. Lunalynn’s 1st active skill Ice Coffin is an AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 245% of her Attack as magical damage to all enemies. If this skill lands as a critical hit, Lunalynn will also apply a Silence debuff to all enemies for 1 turn. Her 2nd active skill Blizzard of Despair is another AOE-targeted damaging skill that deals 285% of her Attack as magical damage to all enemies. Further, if the MAG stat of the enemy is lower than Lunalynn, she will further apply 3 stacks of Poison on them. Poisons deal 10% of the enemy’s MAX HP at the start of every turn. Lunalynn’s 1st passive skill Sisterly Bond states that she permanently increases all ally’s Physical Defense by 20% until she’s alive. 

• LR Freesia

Freesia is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sorcerer in-game. A flower seller who adores her grandmother. For as long as she could remember, Freesia was persecuted as a witch, eventually leading to her and her grandmother living atop a mountain by themselves. She knows what every flower symbolizes, and gives them out as presents. Freesia’s 1st active skill Final Tempest is a multi-targeted damaging ability that deals 280% of her damage per hit as magical damage to 3 randomly targeted enemies. Her 2nd active ability Flowers of Eden is a great recovery ability that restores the HP of 3 allies with the least current HP%. The recovery amount is equal to 280% of Freesia’s MAG stat. Further, the ally with less than 15% of their current HP will gain a 20% Defense buff lasting 2 turns as well. Freesia’s 1st passive skill Rainbow Wind permanently reduces the damage taken by allies by 10%. It also grants them a permanent 10% chance of evading incoming attacks. 

A Tier Witches

• LR Natasha

Natasha is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Warrior in-game. The daughter of gardeners who once worked at the Duke’s mansion. She is so introverted and shy that she runs away at the very sight of strangers. But once Natasha opens up her heart, she will never want to leave your side.  Natasha’s 1st active ability Floral Burial is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 3 enemies. Each hit deals 595% of her Attack as physical damage. If the target’s STR stat is lower than Natasha, then she will inflict a Fainted debuff for 1 turn as well. Her 2nd active ability Lots of Pretty Flowers is another multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 5 enemies. Each hit deals 535% of her Attack as physical damage. Natasha’s 1st passive skill Mom and Dad’s Love states that Natasha takes 20% reduced damage when her MAX HP% is below 20%.

• LR Ivy

Ivy is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sniper in-game. An innocent girl who loves playing with dolls. Her life revolves around her abnormal obsession with the color red. Wherever Ivy goes, she is never without her doll Emma. Her 1st active ability Emma, Attack! is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 3 enemies. Each hit deals 420% of her Attack as physical damage. Ivy further launches another attack dealing 320% of her DEX damage to 1 enemy. Emma’s 2nd active ability Playing With Dolls is a single targeted damaging skill that deals 420% of her Attack as damage to the enemy. The number of targets for this skill increases by each buff Emma has, up to a maximum of 3 targets. Further, if the enemy is affected by debuffs, the damage multiplier changes to 630% of her Attack as damage. Emma’s 1st passive skill Red Princess states that Emma gains 50% permanent Bonus Attack every time an ally dies on the battlefield. This passive can stack up to 6 times, giving her a total of 300% Attack increase. 

• LR Amleth

Amleth is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Warrior in-game. The young queen of the Kingdom of Vyde. With her sword in hand, Amleth has been traveling to save victims of the cursed crystals plaguing her kingdom. She blames herself for the calamity that has befallen Vyde, as well as everything that has happened to her childhood friend Ophelia. Amleth’s 1st active ability Crystal Breaker is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 3 enemies. Each hit deals 350% of her Attack as physical damage. Further, if the target is a Sorcerer-type witch, her physical damage multiplier on this skill increases to 1.5. Amleth’s 2nd active ability Curtains Cut Down is another multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 4 enemies. Each hit deals 380% of her Attack as physical damage. Amleth will launch another attack on a single enemy after this dealing 320% of her Attack as damage. Further, if any enemy dies by this skill, Amleth will restore 10% of her MAX HP. Amleth’s 1st passive skill Ray of Light states that the lower her HP falls, the higher her Attack increases, up to a maximum of 80%.

• LR Nina

Nina is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sniper in-game. An abandoned girl who is convinced she is just lost, wandering around looking for her home. After being framed as a thief, Nina is filled with loneliness and despair when no one believes her. Thinking bad children are not allowed home, she refuses to steal food no matter how hungry she is. Nina’s 1st active ability Lost Child’s Tears is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 5 enemies. Each hit deals 380% of her Attack as physical damage. If the target is buffed, she has a 60% chance of dispelling the buff and stealing it away. If the target is not buffed, she has a 40% chance of decreasing the enemy’s ability to inflict a debuff for 2 turns. Nina’s 2nd active ability I Hate You!! is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 3 enemies. Each hit deals 350% of her Attack as physical damage. Before inflicting the damage, if the enemy has a lower DEX than Nina, she will further dispel a debuff from the targets. Her 1st passive ability I Can Still Walk increases Nina’s Evade Chance by 20% permanently.

B Tier Witches

Let’s look at some of the Witches in this tier:

• LR Mertillier

Mertillier is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sorcerer in-game. A former researcher from the Kingdom of Byrune, and the creator of the homunculus A.A. She is gifted with prodigious intellect, having served as Byrune’s chief researcher all while existing as a witch. Mertillier loves A.A. as if she were her own daughter. Mertillier’s 1st active ability Life Conversion is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 4 enemies. Each hit deals 290% of her Attack as magical damage. Mertillier also gains a Shield equal to 25% of the total damage dealt by this skill, lasting for 2 turns. Her 2nd active ability Maintenance is a supportive skill where she decreases the skill cooldowns by 2 of the ally with the highest Attack. Mertillier’s 1st passive skill Homunculus Body states that Mertillier gains a Regeneration and Stealth buff for 3 turns each when her HP falls below 40%. This can only be activated once in battle.

• LR Tropon 

Tropon is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Sorcerer in-game. A witch who calls herself a genius swindler. Pretending to be a nun, she infiltrates the Church of Longinus, stealing money from its followers and giving it to other witches. Tropon is very laid back, but sometimes says things that sting. Tropon’s 1st active ability Liar’s Sting is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 5 enemies. Each hit deals 290% of her Attack as magical damage. Further, each time she uses this skill, the magical attack is increased by 70% of her Attack. Tropon’s 2nd active ability Trickster is another multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 5 enemies. Each hit deals 270% of her Attack as magical damage. An additional attack dealing direct 260% magical damage to a random enemy is dealt. Tropon’s 1st passive skill Kindhearted Swindler states that she gains a permanent 20% MAX HP increase throughout the battle.

• LR Sabrina

Sabrina is an LR rarity Witch that is classified as a Warrior in-game. A calm, level-headed soldier in the northern army. Traumatized by paralyzing childhood memories, she now seeks to overcome her past through military training. Although Sabrina presents the persona of a hardened soldier, glimpses of her true self peek through the cracks in her façade. Sabrina’s 1st active ability Cerulean Flurry is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 5 enemies. Each hit deals 390% of her Attack as physical damage. If the first hit lands as a critical hit, the rest of the hits are also guaranteed to land as a critical hit. Her 2nd active ability Ultramarine Frenzy is a multi-targeted damaging skill that randomly attacks 3 enemies. Each hit deals 420% of her Attack as physical damage. She has a 30% chance of inflicting a 10% Speed down debuff for 2 turns. Sabrina’s 1st passive skill Courage To Be Alive states that at the start of her turn, it removes 1 debuff from herself. This effect can activate only once in 4 turns.
