Alien Invasion: RPG Idle Space is more than just a game about devouring humans. It’s a game of tactical movement, resource optimization, and conquering the map zone by zone. Each area offers distinct enemies, upgrade opportunities, and mission challenges. Understanding the map system is key to efficient progression, smarter farming, and faster evolution. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the map and its zones, ranging from the starter areas to the high-tier battlefields.

How does the Map work in Alien Invasion: RPG Idle Space?

The map in Alien Invasion is divided into zones, each acting like a level with specific features:

  • Zone Progression: You unlock new zones by completing quests or reaching specific evolution milestones.
  • Enemy Difficulty: As you move into new zones, the enemies become tougher, more aggressive, and drop better resources.
  • Zone Objectives: Each area comes with its own quests and farming opportunities.
  • Returnable Zones: Previously unlocked zones remain accessible, making it easy to backtrack for farming or quest cleanup.

To move between zones, you often need to reach a zone gate or complete mandatory quests that act as barriers. Sadly, the game does not show us an official mini-map where we can view all the different zones. To simplify further, we have attached a fan-made map of all the zones in the game.

The Base Wasteland – Starting Zone

This is where every alien begins their invasion. It’s the safest and simplest area, with idle humans, a nearby cargo base, and your first quest-giving alien NPC.

Enemies

  • Basic humans with no resistance
  • Small police units later introduced

Goals/Objectives:

  • Get used to the cargo-unloading loop
  • Accumulate biomass for your first evolution
  • Unlock basic traits and permanent upgrades

Tips to advance to the next zone:

  • Stay here longer than you think. Fully complete all quests before moving on.
  • Upgrade your cargo capacity and movement speed early.
  • Farming meat is efficient here due to quick cargo cycles.

Industrial Slums

Your first real taste of human resistance. This zone introduces more mobile and hostile humans and slightly more complex layouts.

Enemies

  • Construction workers
  • Melee guards
  • Low-tier shooters

Goals/Objectives:

  • More quest options appear
  • Buildings and tighter paths introduce basic navigation challenges
  • Meat drops increase slightly

Tips to advance to the next zone:

  • Use corners and obstacles to isolate enemies and avoid aggro from multiple shooters.
  • Prioritize health upgrades to offset growing damage.
  • Finish side quests for extra rewards and zone XP.

Military Compound

A heavily fortified zone that significantly raises the difficulty. Hostile humans are abundant and equipped with ranged weapons and armor.

Enemies

  • Military soldiers with rifles
  • Armored guards

Goals/Objectives:

  • Higher incoming damage
  • Larger spawn clusters
  • Increased likelihood of death and cargo loss

Tips to advance to the next zone:

  • Never rush into groups of enemies. Use your movement upgrades to pick off isolated enemies.
  • Invest in HP regeneration, damage resistance, and attack radius upgrades.
  • Take advantage of temporary power-ups dropped in the zone to push deeper.

Research Lab

This zone introduces human scientists and elite defenders. It’s also where you unlock access to mutation research buildings, expanding your upgrade tree.

Enemies

  • Scientists
  • Cyborg guards
  • Laser defense systems

Goals/Objectives:

  • Access to mutation labs
  • Side missions that grant capsules for advanced upgrades
  • Unique events tied to alien tech discovery

Tips to advance to the next zone:

  • Farm scientists for high resource efficiency.
  • Use this zone to develop your mutation-based build path (e.g., more arms, speed bursts, stealth traits).
  • Complete research lab quests to unlock zone-exclusive boosts.

Metro Ruins

An expansive urban environment with layered structures, including underground tunnels, subways, and elevated platforms.

Enemies

  • SWAT teams
  • Snipers on rooftops
  • Electric drones

Goals/Objectives:

  • Multi-level map layout
  • Vertical tracking needed for objectives
  • Hidden item spawn points

Tips to advance to the next zone:

  • Upgrade movement and vision radius to handle ambushes.
  • Be strategic and isolate sniper nests before attacking mobs.
  • AOE (area of effect) upgrades are valuable here due to clustered enemy patrols.
