Firstly, Astro Arena: Star Clash PvP is still in an alpha test state, so any system explained here is subject to change in the future. With that out of the way, let’s talk about how the gameplay works. As you create an account, the very first choice you need to make is to select either the ranged damage dealer hero Sephir, or the melee ranged damage dealer hero Zeno. Keep in mind, this choice doesn’t matter as you will eventually get the other hero as well. The gameplay works in a battle royale style, wherein up to 20 players can battle it out at a time.

Multiple Game Modes to Choose from

There are several game modes such as Duo battle royale, Solo battle royale, team deathmatch, and many more. There are also different maps on which the battle takes place. Each map has some recurring themes such as walls, objects, heals, loot/drops, and mini-bosses. Players need to firstly select a hero from their inventory that they want to take into battles. Ideally, choose the hero which you have experience with, and are comfortable playing with. The gameplay loop is also monotonous but the real thrill comes when you have to fight real players in engaging action-packed battles.

Each hero in Astro Arena has access to 3 types of abilities – basic attacks, active abilities, and passive abilities. Depending on the rarity and level of the hero, these abilities can further branch out into multiple skills. Hence, hero customization plays a huge role in the upper echelon of rankings.

How does Combat work in Astro Arena: Star Clash PvP?

The combat mechanics of Astro Arena: Star Clash PvP are quite simple to learn and understand. You control your character using a virtual movement wheel located on the left-hand side of the screen. Your hero’s active abilities will be located on the right-hand side. To attack an enemy using your hero’s basic attacks, you just need to stand still within the attack range, and your hero will automatically hit the nearest enemy target. You can also choose which target to hit by tapping on them. This mechanic is very important in group fights where there are multiple enemy heroes and neutral monsters. There’s also a dash button on the right-hand with a specific cooldown. Players can press it to dash a certain distance.

Inside the battlefield, all heroes, be it allied, or enemies, start the game with Level 1. Heroes can gain levels in combat by getting experience crystals from killing enemies, destroying chests, and taking down mini-bosses. The mini-bosses give the most amount of experience, but take time to spawn initially. Players can increase their hero’s attributes by increasing their level. Each level up grants you 2 stat boost options to choose from. You can only pick one stat boost at a time per level. These stat boosts can be increased single target damage, increased HP, attack, defense, and more. The options get more complex and tailored to your hero as your level further increases.

There are multiple health packs distributed along the map as well that you can collect to restore lost HP. Additionally, there is also a zone mechanic that was seen and loved in games like PUBG wherein the red zone determines the area you cannot enter anymore. The zone shrinks with time, forcing players to fight each other, instead of camping or hiding.

Heroes, and how to Upgrade them in Astro Arena

Heroes in Astro Arena: Star Clash PvP come in different rarities, starting from Rare all the way to Legendary. Higher rarity heroes have better abilities and superior base stats. Each hero in the game has access to unique active and passive abilities that can be harnessed as you level them up. Yes, Astro Arena takes inspiration from many RPG games, and you can develop each hero individually. You can increase their levels by investing hero experience and coins into them. Each level up gives heroes more base stats, as well as unlocks their abilities. Players can gain access to new heroes either via directly purchasing them using the premium currency Astro Gem, or via participating in events.
