DC: Dark Legion™ Complete Guide to Gearing and Equipment

DC: Dark Legion is an action-packed strategy RPG that immerses players in a dark multiverse where the iconic heroes and villains of the DC Universe clash in a battle to reshape reality. After a mysterious rift fractures space and time, alternate versions of legendary characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker begin to emerge, each with unique powers and moral alignments. What’s more? Players can gear these menacing superheroes and supervillains to fuel them with more power! In this guide, we will be learning all about the basic gearing mechanisms of the game. Let’s begin!
What is Gear in DC: Dark Legion?
Gear in DC: Dark Legion can be considered as the different pieces of equipment players can get by completing a variety of missions and events. Gear pieces come in different rarities, levels, classes, and slots. Hence, the entire process is more complicated than it sounds. Players will firstly need to understand the gear pieces come in classes – Warrior, Guardian, Supporter, Intimidator, Firepower, Magical, and Assassin.
These classes are similar to that of heroes, so you can ensure which heroes require which class of gear pieces. Keep in mind, you can only gear of specific class type to a particular hero. For example, Superman who is a Warrior class hero cannot be equipped with Magical type gear pieces.
Types of Gear in DC: Dark Legion
Similarly, gear pieces in DC: Dark Legion also come in different slots. Each hero in the game can be equipped with 6 distinct gear pieces, provided they fit the slots:
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Armor
- Belt
- Boots
- Weapon
Out of all the slots, the weapon slot is the most demanding and complicated to understand. We will learn more about it later down the line. Firstly, you should know that all of the slotted gear has a specific stat that they have to offer. For example, a Helmet will always give your hero more flat HP. Similarly, gloves will always give heroes more flat attack.
The rest of the substats can change but the main stat remains the same across the board for all slots of gear pieces. Now, gear pieces come in different rarities – Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, and Red. The higher the rarity of the piece, the more substats the gear piece will have. Players should try and look for gear pieces with better rarities to make their heroes stronger.
Now, just like rarity, gear pieces also come in different levels. These levels determine how high the stat ceiling can be of that particular piece. For example, a level 40 helmet will offer only 500 HP but a level 78 helmet offers 1980 HP, which is almost quadruple of the former! Such discrepancies in gear level are why players grind so much in hopes of getting better gear pieces.
Use the Armory to your Advantage
If you’re confused as to how to get more gear pieces in DC: Dark Legion, worry not! The Armory is the go-to location if you want to craft more gear pieces. It is a building that can be upgraded to yield better quality gear pieces within a specific level range. All you need to craft gear pieces are Magisteel and Cash. The former can be earned by dismantling useless gear pieces, and other avenues in the game.
You will have an abundance of Magisteel, so craft your heart away! One big tip we would like to offer is that do not craft lower tier gear pieces. Make sure to upgrade your armory and start crafting only when you have reached mid-end game status.
Players can enjoy playing DC: Dark Legion™ on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
