Destiny: Rising Guide to Weapons and Loadout

Destiny: Rising, launched on August 28, 2025, is a mobile looter-shooter blending franchise DNA with mobile-friendly combat and a shared-world MMO feel. The game’s weapon system is quite robust with two weapon slots—Primary and Power, and a roster of powerful Lightbearers to choose from. Crafting the right loadout is essential for survival and effectiveness. Let’s dive into the best strategies for weapon selection, enhancement, synergy, and optimizing your loadout.
What are Weapons in Destiny: Rising?
In Destiny: Rising, weapons are the main source of damage alongside the abilities of each Lightbearer. Each hero in the game has 2 different weapon slots – primary and secondary. The lightbearers are fixed towards having specific types of weapons only, and cannot use all weapons in the game. For example, Wolf has a fixed primary weapon slot for Auto-rifles, and secondary slot for Grenade Launchers. Although this might feel that it takes away a lot of customization, having fixed weapon slots isn’t entirely a bad thing, especially when you consider you can play with multiple different lightbearers. Make sure to test out each type of weapon, and pick up a lightbearer that matches the style.
Destiny: Rising – Weapon Rarities and Types
The weapon system in Destiny: Rising is quite diverse as weapons come in different types and elements. Much like the lightbearers, weapons in the game are also tuned to a particular element, and deal damage accordingly. These are as follows:
- Arc – Arc is the element of motion and conduction, and is created when the electromagnetic forces of our universe struggle to achieve balance.
- Solar – Solar energy related to combustion, heat, nuclear fusion, and healing. To master it is to understand the star’s duality, for the forces we use to scorch are the same we harness to heal.
- Void – Void is the element of cosmic distortion. It is the pull of gravity and the promise of entropy.
Next up, each weapon in Destiny: Rising is also given a base rarity according to which they act in-game. The rarity defines the weapons base stats, and abilities. The higher the grade of the weapon, the higher the damage output and overall utility. There are 4 different rarities of weapons – Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. The rarity of the weapon is denoted by the amount of stars on it. Use the information below to identify which weapons are strong or not:
- Rare Weapons – These weapons have a blue border, and 3 stars.
- Epic Weapons – These weapons have a purple border, and 4 stars.
- Legendary Weapons – These weapons have an orange-red border, and 5 stars.
- Mythic Weapons – These weapons have a yellow border, and 6 stars.
Weapons are further classified into sub-types, and this denoted how they function in real battles. These archetypes can be accessible via playing the supported Lightbearers. The weapon types are as follows:
- Auto-Rifle
- Pulse Rifle
- Scout Rifle
- Fusion Rifle
- Submachine Gun
- Sidearm
- Hand Cannon
- Grenade Launcher
- Shotgun
- Sniper Rifle
- Light Grenade Launcher
- Sword
- Rocket Launcher
- Machine Gun
- Auto Crossbow
Understanding Weapon Damage
Each weapon in Destiny: Rising deals damage in different directions and varieties. Yes, we are talking about the damage spread area of the weapon. For example, some weapons can shoot from afar, while others can deal AOE damage. Understanding which weapons are useful in which situation is what separates a newbie from an experienced veteran. Check out the different damage types of weapons:
- Rapid-Fire – A weapon capable of rapidly firing consecutive shots.
- Spread – A weapon that fires explosive rounds capable of hitting groups of targets.
- Piercing – A weapon with long-range, precise aiming, and high accuracy.
- Impact – A weapon that deals high damage at close range.
Upgrading Weapons
Much like any RPG, Destiny: Rising also gives players the oppurtunity to upgrade their existing weapons. This can be done via increasing their level, or enhancement status. Keep in mind, enhancement status of a weapon is separate from their base level that they begin with. By enhancing weapons, you can increase their damage output, and increase overall efficiency. Players will need Prisms to enhance their weapons, and these prisms come in different rarities. Players can earn them by completing quests, participating in events, and more avenues.
Players can enjoy playing Destiny: Rising on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
