In our Ember Ruin hero guide, we have delved deep into the way you build your character. Being a dark fantasy RPG that combines multiplayer Idle elements, it’s definitely more unique than anything we have seen before. Players progress gradually by completing more quests and enhancing their power level. But, how do you develop your character? Well, you will learn exactly that with the help of our guide. Let’s begin!

How to Increase Combat Power (CP) in Ember Ruin?

To put it simply, every aspect of power in Ember Ruin is measured by a single number – your Combat Power (CP). This number can be seen below your name, on the top left-hand corner. Make sure you are focusing all your energy in increasing this number as that signifies you are getting stronger. Your CP is a cumulative number that takes into account several factors like account level, character skills, equipment, talents, pets, and much more.

Levelling Up in Ember Ruin

Perhaps the best way to increase CP in Ember Ruin is to simply level up your character. Now, your character level is directly tied to your account level, since there is no option to have multiple characters. Hence, you just need to focus on increasing account level first. This can happen via a variety of methods. The first is to complete your main quests that are located at the bottom of the screen. Main quests offer tons of experience and other important resources to ensure constant growth of your account.

Upgrade and Enhance Equipment

Your hero needs to be powered up and this happens in the form of adding to their base stats. You see, leveling up your character only grants you an upgrade in the base stats. But, these stats can also be enhanced by equipping the right gear pieces to your character. There are a total of 10 gear slots that you can fill in with the required equipment:

  • Gloves
  • Headwear
  • Charm
  • Greaves
  • Boots
  • Trousers
  • Ring
  • Earrings
  • Necklace
  • Bangle

Players can get new items from completing main story quests, defeating world bosses, raiding the gear dungeon, events, and more. Each gear comes in different tiers and rarities, making the system more complex. The higher the tier, the more base stats your item will have. Similarly, the higher the gear rarity, the more substats it will have.

Each gear type has a limited set of fixed main stats that they come in. You need to manage your equipment to suit your playstyle. For example, if you want to deal more damage, look for more DPS stats like attack, crit chance, crit damage, etc. Players can choose to upgrade their equipment as well using the apt currency. However, this is an expensive process, especially at the higher tiers. Hence, we don’t recommend throwing away all your currency in upgrading useless gear pieces that you will eventually swap out.

Skills

Your hero’s skills in Ember Ruin are what help you gain an advantage during combat situations. These skills come in 2 types – active and passive. Active skills have a cooldown, and can’t be used repeatedly. On the other hand, passive skill’s effects remain throughout the duration of combat without the need to be triggered. Players unlock more skills as they advance through the main story quests. You can also enhance each skill individually, or all at once with the Quick enhance feature.

Pets

Your pet is another amazing creature that directly affects total combat power. Players can upgrade their pets level to increase their base stats, and unlock new abilities. Next, you can advance your pet to the next transcendence level, enabling them to transform, unlock new abilities, and gain increased base stats. Players can also morph their pets into different skins that give CP. Last but not the least, players can activate auras of pets to unlock special active effects.

Costume

Unfortunately, costumes do give power in Ember Ruin. That too, a lot. Consider them like alternative forms for your hero. Since the game doesn’t have heroes to summon and use, you can change the appearance in the form of costumes. These costumes can also be further enhanced to give more stats, and hence, more combat power. While some costumes are exclusive pay to unlock, some can be acquired via events.

Sword

The Sword is the main weapon of your hero in Ember Ruin. The sword has its own set of active and passive abilities which remain fixed. Players can enhance their sword to unlock new abilities, as well as increase overall combat power. Lastly, you can also morph the sword into different forms, provided you have unlocked the form.
