We highly recommend players make their own decisions by taking reference from this guide as Higan: Eruthyll is not yet launched. Some of the explanations we have covered regarding the mechanics of the game are from our personal experiences during the first-ever closed beta test. Some changes or discrepancies might be found if the game’s systems are changed in the eventual global release or in future game updates. Here are the different sub-topics being covered in this guide:

  • Understanding the Summoning System
  • Understanding the Battle System and Combat Mechanics
  • Understanding the Character Roles and Skills
  • Recommended Early-Game Line-ups

Basics of Summoning System

Higan: Eruthyll is a gacha game where players are required to summon for their most wanted characters through the different summoning banners that exist within the game’s gacha menu. Of course, these characters are further divided into different rarities with each rarity having its own separate probability of being summoned. The higher the rarity of the character, the lower will be the chance of summoning them. The lower the rarity of the character, the higher will be the chance of summoning them. Players will get familiar to this system as they progress through the game. The gacha system’s mechanics are also included in the tutorial for the game.

Here are the different rarities of characters and their rates:

  • 3-Star Characters – 2% Probability of being summoned
  • 2-Star Characters – 19% Probability of being summoned
  • 1-Star Characters – 79% Probability of being summoned

Players can obtain these characters from the different summoning banners. Here are the different summoning banners new players will see when they first go to the Summoning menu:

  • When Stars Gather Together Limited Summoning Banner – In this special summoning banner, players can summon 1-3 Star characters with a fixed probability. The banner is extremely friendly to new players as players can get a 3-Star character guaranteed within 20 summons. Players can only make 20 summons on this summoning banner. Starlight Revelation is the summoning currency used for making the summons on this banner. A special discounted rate of only 3000 Starlight Revenant will be applied as opposed to the regular 6000 Starlight Revelation for 10 summons. This banner will disappear once players have made the 20 summons on it. It is ideal for re-rolling.
  • Soul Threads Summoning Banner – In this summoning banner, players can summon 1-3 Star characters. This summoning banner usually features a particular character as a rate-up which means players will have a higher chance of summoning that particular character. Players are guaranteed to summon the rate-up 3-Star character after doing 300 summons on the banner by exchanging their fragment dust. Soul Tickets are the summoning currency that is primarily used here. Players can obtain Soul Tickets from events as part of the new character introduction. Do not worry as you can use your Starlight Revelation as well to summon on this banner. Each 10 sets of summons cost 10 Soul Tickets or 6000 Starlight Revelation.

  • The Phantom of the Opera Summoning Banner – In this summoning banner, players can summon 1-3 star rarity of heroes at differing probabilities. This is a dual-featured banner where players can summon 2 different characters as part of the rate-up event. Each of them has a 50% higher chance of being summoned. Players can summon on this banner using their collected Inspiration Revelation or Dubriostal.

Understanding the Combat Mechanics

Coming to the combat mechanics of Higan: Eruthyll, they are not as complex as they might appear to be at the beginning of the game. First of all, the game is extremely easy at the beginning so do not have the idea that in the future, it will remain the same. As you progress, the stats of your enemies will increase accordingly as well to match your own power levels. In Higan: Eruthyll, forming a balanced team is one of the best ways to tackle the early game. Forming a strategy will be the key to victory in Higan: Eruthyll. Let’s start with the basics. Each character in the game has a particular element attached to them which dictates their strengths and weaknesses.

Here are the different elements and their descriptions:

  • Pyro Element – Pyro element is stronger against Anemo element but weak against Hydro element.
  • Hydro Element – Hydro element is stronger against Pyro element but weak against Anemo element.
  • Anemo Element – Anemo element is stronger against the Hydro element but weak against the Pyro element.
  • Lumino Element – Lumino element is stronger and weaker than the Umbra element.
  • Umbra Element – Umbra element is stronger and weaker than the Lumino element.

Characters that are of stronger element deal more damage to enemies from the weaker element while taking lesser damage from them in return. Hence, having allied with element advantage is great for getting an advantage over your enemies and reducing the difficulty of the stages. Another mechanic called Synergies exists in Higan: Eruthyll. Synergies can be considered as extra abilities or buffs that are applied when different characters of the same element are present in a formation. For example, Encroaching Cold, Dark Mark, Corrosion, etc are some examples of Synergies. Deploying 4 characters of the same element is one of the best-case scenarios while developing a formation.

During the battles, you will notice that some characters will instantly start the battles with their ultimate abilities and you will need to either soak up the damage, cancel their attacks, or simply outsmart them using your formation. Always make sure to see the range of all enemies and carefully place your allies to pit them against each other. Remember that the enemy AI (Artificial Intelligence) will always target the weaker elemental characters first. Try to use your environment to the fullest by using characters that can provide large-scale buffing or healing as more allies will be able to take their benefit. The same advice applies when trying to deal damage to enemies. Try to group them together so that your skills hit more of them and this will in turn increase your overall DPS output.

Understanding the Character Roles

All the characters in Higan: Eruthyll have a specific role that they need to fulfill in order to prove efficient for the team. You cannot expect to go and stomp battles with 4 DPS characters with no hero to tank any damage for you. Similarly, you cannot expect to win battles with 4 Tanky characters as there will be no hero to deal damage to the enemies.

Here are the different roles that each character is classified into:

  • Guardians and Hoplites – Guardians and Hoplites are 2 different classifications but they are often intermingled with each other due to the similarities they share. Both of these classes are considered tanky front-line damage absorbers that can act as damage soaking machines. However, the major difference is that while Guardians are pure damage absorbers, Hoplites on the other hand can even deal a decent amount of damage if they are built right. These characters will do their best to protect back-line allies and block the damage coming from the front-line enemies.
  • Damage Dealers – Damage dealers of DPS (Damage Per Second Heroes) are some of the best characters to take into the game if you want to end the battles fast. Their sole purpose is to deal damage to enemies. The higher the damage dealt, the better they are considered at their job. Any formation is incomplete without the addition of DPS characters. Again, just like our tank, damage dealers are also divided further into different categories. These are going to be Caster, Assassin, and Ranger. Due to the nature of their class, they are generally very squishy because of having lower defensive stats but higher offensive stats. Their role is to obliterate the enemy’s front line and eventually reach the backline.
  • Adiutrix – Adiutrix is the supporters in Higan: Eruthyll that provide healing to allies, crowd control for enemies, and general utility for the whole team. They are crucial for the smooth functioning of any team and are generally the backbone of any team. Some characters can double down as Adiutrix while being a Guardian as well.
