At it’s core, Monmate Master: Idle Adventure is an Idle game that also poses some strategic challenges for the players. The combat system of the game is casual oriented and turn-based in nature. Players firstly need to create a formation wherein they can add their own main character along with 5 other Monmates. Monmates are monsters that can be used in combat scenarios. They are not to be confused with the main characters. Like a true RPG, players can customize their team formations and train the main character as well as Monmates to get stronger.

Further, all players will get access to a set of main quests that act as guiding light for the new player. These quests can be accessed from the bottom left-hand side, and are shaded in yellow color. Apart from guiding players on what to do next, they also give out generous rewards that aid in account growth. As a new player, your primary focus should be on completing these quests. Players can gradually unlock auto-battle and 2-3x battle speed as they progress in the main story chapters.

Yes, that’s the campaign mode of the game. The entire mode is divided into multiple chapters, with each chapter further having multiple stages that you will need to defeat in order to progress. Progressing in the main story chapters will not only grant you many significant rewards but also help you gain account experience to level up. Levelling up the account will then help players unlock new game modes and content that was otherwise locked.

Your Main Character

Unlike other idle games, players can actually use their own character in combat scenarios. In fact, you can also empower him/her with various different methods. Firstly, your hero has some basic active and passive abilities. These remain the same until you upgrade them. Your characters stats can be improved by simply levelling up the 3 main attributes – Attack, Defense, and HP. These attributes can be enhanced till a limit, after which you will need to promote the character for more advancement.

Promoting can be achieved after you fulfill some basic quest requirements. Promoting also helps your character’s abilities to become stronger and advanced in nature. Lastly, players can also equip their main character with multiple gear pieces, each offering more stats. Players can get these gear pieces as drops from campaign fights, dungeons, and events.

Monmates

Monmates, like we mentioned earlier, are helpful monsters that assist you in battles. Players can acquire monmates via hatching eggs in the Chest system. This system unlocks early on after you complete the tutorial. Monmates come in differing rarities, with UR being the highest, and R being the lowest. The higher the rarity of the monmate, the better stats and abilities they possess.

Apart from simply looking at rarity, players should also keep the role of monmate in mind. For example, you need to create a balanced formation consisting of tanks, DPS, and supports/healers. Different monmates serve different purposes in a team. Try to hunt for synergies between different monmates before adding them to your team.

The system makes use of different chests to offer different rarities of monmates. There are 4 types of chests that players can open:

  • Bread Chest – Players can open this chest to earn chest experience, chest points, and bread, along with a variety of materials. As the chest reward level increases, the probability of getting a superior quality of reward also increases. After opening 20 bread chests, players will get 1 Promotion Chest free.
  • Promotion Chest – Players can open this chest to earn chest experience, chest points, promotion stones, and bread as rewards. As the chest reward level increases, the probability of getting a superior quality of reward also increases.
  • Gear Chest – Players can open this chest to earn chest experience, chest points, hero gear, and bread as rewards. As the chest reward level increases, the probability of getting a superior quality of reward also increases.
  • Skill Chest – Players can open this chest to earn chest experience, chest points, skills, and bread as rewards. As the chest reward level increases, the probability of getting a superior quality of reward also increases.
