Once Human Comprehensive Guide to Understand Prime War

Once Human introduces players to a post-apocalyptic world teeming with supernatural threats and survival challenges. Among its standout features is the Prime War, a dynamic, large-scale PvE event that tests players’ strategic planning, combat prowess, and teamwork. This guide delves into the intricacies of Prime War, offering insights to help newcomers navigate and excel in this formidable event. Let’s start!
What is Prime War in Once Human?
Prime War is a server-wide cooperative event where players unite to defend the Staroid Restrainer from relentless waves of enemies, culminating in a battle against a formidable boss. The event is accessible to all players, but its difficulty scales across four tiers: Easy, Hard, Pro, and Nightmare. Progressing through these tiers requires players to earn specific ratings and unlock Frontier Passes, ensuring that participants are adequately prepared for escalating challenges.
How to Initiate Prime War?
To commence a Prime War, players must locate a Staroid Restrainer on the map and activate it using Staroids, a resource accumulated through gameplay. Once activated, a global notification alerts all players, initiating a five-minute preparation phase. During this window, participants can teleport to the event location, set up defenses, and strategize with allies.
Prime War Preparation and Strategy
While solo participation is possible, Prime Wars are designed for cooperative play. Forming a Hive or Warband enhances coordination and increases the likelihood of success. Utilize in-game chat to recruit allies and share tactics. Success in Prime War hinges on the right equipment:
- Turrets: Essential for breaching the boss’s shield.
- Explosive Ammunition: Biomass Missiles and Red Plasma Missiles are particularly effective.
- Defensive Structures: Walls and foundations protect the Restrainer and funnel enemy movement.
- Healing Items: Ensure you have ample supplies to sustain yourself and assist teammates.
For those unaware, the primary goal for all metas (players) is to defend their Starioid Restrainer from being destroyed due to the manibus boss and their minions. To aid in the security of the Staroid Restrainer, any Metas within the Prime War Bounderies are allowed to construct bases and defenses similar to that of a standard construction plan, such as putting Foundations, Walls, Frames, Roofs, and Turrets.
Turrets: Place strategically to maximize coverage and damage output.
Walls and Foundations: Create choke points to control enemy flow and shield critical structures.
Elevated Platforms: Provide vantage points for ranged attacks and surveillance.
Prime War has different bosses with similar underlying mechanics but different abilities. They are as follows:
- Ravenous Hunter fires a missile into the air, which slowly descends. Everyone must assault the missile in order for it to detonate in midair before colliding with the ground and killing everyone.
- Shadow Hound leaps into the air and lands with a big explosion near the Staroid Restrainer, resulting in a DPS race to kill it before it ruins the objective.
- Secret Servitor divides into three different after-images that must be defeated one by one.
Different Combat Phases to Understand
Following the preparation phase, waves of enemies assault the Staroid Restrainer. Coordinate with your team to eliminate these threats promptly, preventing damage to your defenses. The boss emerges with a formidable Silver Plague Shield, rendering it immune to conventional attacks. Deploy turrets loaded with explosive ammunition to dismantle this shield.
Once vulnerable, focus fire to deplete the boss’s health. Upon reaching low health, the boss initiates a powerful final attack. Each boss has unique mechanics; for instance, the Ravenous Hunter summons a massive missile that must be destroyed mid-air to prevent catastrophic damage. Stay alert and adapt strategies accordingly.
Prime War Rewards
Completing a Prime War awards players with loot boxes, which may contain weapons, mods, materials, and more. Once the event finishes, you will receive additional, higher-quality crates based on your final rating. Players can gain rating points by completing activities such as healing other players and damaging the boss. To obtain all treasure boxes, you must achieve the highest rating in the Prime War you are currently participating in. On Easy mode, the required score is 800, which increases with Prime War difficulty.
