In this beginner’s guide for Command and Conquer: Legions, we will be studying the different underlying game systems that shape up the game’s economy and impact your overall progression. We will also be studying more about the gameplay mechanics along with understanding more about Officers.

Understanding the Gameplay Mechanics

To understand how the combat works in Command and Conquer: Legions, you must understand the role we are playing in the game. Our role is of a commander, tasked with controlling humanity’s last dawn of hope, a brilliant army that has access to vast technology and resources. However, we must build it from scratch in our base, and we require a ton of assistance. Officers are those characters in the game that have access to special combative abilities. Some Officers can also assist you in your base-building shenanigans by having access to useful passive abilities that can boost resource production.

The core gameplay of Command and Conquer: Legions is a mix of everything and cannot be defined by a single aspect. The combat is more tactical and less hands-on in nature, particularly more akin to an Idle game where players have little to no individualistic control over their characters. Your army will move by themselves, and you cannot force them to move. However, you can direct them towards enemies by targeting the group of enemies. The fight happens in real-time and you can only view the action from afar. The white health bars represent the total health pool of your troops, including the Officer. Prior to attacking, you have the full liberty to command the troops to either stay there and hold position, or come back to the base.

The Daily Missions

A host of daily missions are going to be present for all players in Command and Conquer: Legions. They promote daily activeness and also help you gather a bunch of resources without much effort. Here are the daily missions along with their rewards:

Understanding the Summoning System

Apart from being a city-builder RTS, Command and Conquer: Legions has a lot to offer for the dopamine freaks interested in summoning different heroes, amicably called “Officers”. These Officers offer a wide variety of skills that can help you in & out of combat. Officers can be recruited by opening crates, the summoning currency of the game. There are 2 types of Crates – Silver Crate and Golden Crate. While the former is quite easy to obtain, the latter is very tough to obtain. You can get up to 3 free Silver Crates to open on a daily basis. You can also get items along with shards of Officers.

Understanding the Different Resources

There are multiple different resources that are available to be collected and harvested in Command and Conquer: Legions. They make up the entire base of the game and contribute to the backbone of the economy. These resources are quite abundant early on, but they are spent in massive amounts as you will progress in the game. Hence, it’s important to understand more about these currencies, such as how they are produced and where they are used.
