On another occasion, we wrote a reroll guide for Whiteout Survival with a step by step process on how to unlock the best characters in the game from the very beginning, so you can get a head start in your story progression. However, how useful could a reroll guide for a game be if you don’t even know which characters to look for? To answer this important question, we decided to create this Whiteout Survival tier list, so you can learn about the best (and worst) characters in the game, and get an idea of what to look for whenever you’re rerolling in this game.

Before we begin, however, keep in mind that if you’re thinking of rerolling in this game, we strongly suggest playing Whiteout Survival on PC with BlueStacks, since our Android app player can significantly speed up the reroll process for this game. By using BlueStacks tools like the Instance Manager, you can create multiple instances of our emulator and access the game on several accounts simultaneously. And while we can’t do anything to improve your odds of getting good heroes from the gacha, rerolling on multiple accounts should help to speed up the entire process considerably.

Best Whiteout Survival Tier List

  1. S Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes
  2. A Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes
  3. B Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes

Now that we know how to reroll, as well as how to use our BlueStacks tools to optimize this process, we can actually move onto the most important part of this article: Talking about the best heroes in Whiteout Survival.

In this regard, the debate isn’t very complex, considering that, as of launch, the game only has 13 different heroes. Nevertheless, particularly due to the game’s small roster, it’s important to know exactly which heroes to look for and which to ignore. And even with such low hero variety, actually obtaining full characters from the gacha can take a long time, since the odds are quite low on every pull.

With that being said, the main way to recruit heroes in this game is via the Hero Hall building, which you can unlock shortly after beginning your game. Once unlocked, you can spend your Platinum and Gold Keys to pull heroes from the Advanced and Epic Recruitment banners, respectively, each of which have different prize pools and probabilities:

  • Advanced Recruit

    • 1% chance of resulting in a full SR character.
    • 1% chance of resulting in a full R character.
    • 20% chance of resulting in SR character shards.
    • 25% chance of resulting in R character shards.
    • 53% chance of resulting in items (Exploration and Expedition Manuals, Resource Packs, Speedups, etc.)
  • Epic Recruit

    • 0.5% chance of resulting in a full SSR character.
    • 1% chance of resulting in a full SR character.
    • 0.48% chance of resulting in a full R character.
    • 15% chance of resulting in SSR character shards.
    • 20% chance of resulting in SR character shards.
    • 10% chance of resulting in R character shards.
    • 53.02% chance of resulting in items (Exploration and Expedition Manuals, Resource Packs, Speedups, etc.)

While you’ll need to pay for these pulls with the aforementioned keys, you can actually get five free Advanced Recruitments every day. These recruitments have a cooldown of five minutes between every free use, and we recommend sticking around and spending them all every single day.

With that being said, here’s our Whiteout Survival tier list with a quick rundown of the best and worst characters in the game:

The tables above are the quick and easy version of our Whiteout Survival tier list. And while this list gives you a good idea of which characters to recruit and which ones to skip, it doesn’t do much to aid in your understanding of the “why”. As such, in the following section, we’ll take a closer look at each and every character on our tier list, and give a quick rundown on why they’re in their respective spots, to give you an idea of how to create your own tier lists in the future, when more heroes are released.

S Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes

Usually, our tier lists consist of four tiers, of which tiers C to S consist of characters that are decent and excellent, respectively, while the D tier corresponds to those characters that you’ll want to avoid at all costs. In this case, since not only does Whiteout Survival have very few heroes in its roster, but most of these characters are quite serviceable, we decided to skip the D tier this time around.

With that disclaimer out of the way, the S Tier corresponds to the strongest characters in Whiteout Survival. These heroes can single-handedly carry you through the tougher scenarios, without much need for outside assistance. If you’re rerolling in Whiteout Survival, these are the heroes that you’ll want to aim for.

Bahiti

Whiteout Survival is great when it comes to F2P accessibility, particularly because it gives you one of the best heroes in the game for free, as soon as you start a new journey. Bahiti is a strong attacker hero, adept at commanding and leading Marksmen troops and with a strong kit that lets him deal tons of damage very fast. Even when it comes to expeditions, Bahiti has passives that enhance his troops’ damage, while also offering a small degree of survivability.

Bahiti is the perfect hero for any combat encounter, and you’d do well to keep him upgraded and in your team at all times.

Sergey

As the only tank character in the game, Sergey is THE best defender hero in the entire game, with a kit that allows him to protect his teammates while disrupting the enemy at every turn.

Sergey leads infantry troops, which makes him into a strong melee combatant. However, his skill set revolves heavily around reducing the damage taken by his allies as well as by himself. Moreover, in expeditions, Sergey can not only reduce the damage taken by his allies, but also reduce the damage that his enemies inflict.

Natalia

This heroine is a bit difficult to unlock, especially as a F2P player, considering that the only way to do so is either as a bonus by purchasing anything from the store, or as a reward from VIP packs. Nevertheless, despite her cost, Natalia is well worth the investment, as she’s a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

While she’s not a tank outright, Natalia’s kit heavily favors a defensive play style, as she gains power whenever she’s attacked, and also has skills that, while not dealing that much damage, can stun and interrupt nearby foes. As such, if you combine her with Sergey, you can essentially create an impregnable frontline to keep your team safe at all times.

Molly

Despite being armed with a cannon, Molly is actually a leader of Lancer units, making her into a powerful melee attacker in her own right. She can use stealth and subterfuge to sneak past enemies and deal them crippling blows, which gives Molly the ability to inflict heavy burst damage. Moreover, Molly gets stronger as she loses health, thanks to a passive buff that enhances her attack speed when her HP drops under 50%.

In Expeditions, Molly continues being a powerhouse with not only the probability to stun enemies every time she and her troops attack, but she can also give a 10% chance on every attack for her troops to deal an additional 50% damage. This bonus is on top of her permanent 5% damage boost, which she can bestow to her troops simply by being on the field.

A Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes

These heroes are almost as strong as their S Tier counterparts, though they might require a bit more setup in order to realize their full potential in the field. Nevertheless, if you don’t manage to unlock S Tier heroes, these ones are excellent alternatives.

Jeronimo

This powerful swordsman is capable of inflicting heavy burst damage to anyone who stands in his way. Not only that, but he can also passively launch sword waves with every basic attack, inflicting AoE damage with every swing. What’s more, all of his damage is boosted whenever Jeronimo has over 50% HP, as his attacks inflict 16% extra damage whenever he’s above this health threshold.

In Expeditions, Jeronimo is also quite powerful, being able to passively boost the attack of his troops by a whopping 10%, and giving them a 4% chance of stunning enemies with every basic attack. This kit is quite straightforward, yet very effective, especially if you manage to pair Jeronimo with allies that can tank the enemies and give him free reign to wail on them uninterrupted.

Gina

This heroine has a balanced kit revolving around decent AoE capabilities coupled with sustained single-target damage, allowing her to excel in virtually any scenario. Her increased crit rate makes her particularly adept at whittling down tougher enemies.

When it comes to Expeditions, Gina is more of a utilitarian heroine, only offering passives that reduce stamina consumption, as well as increase her march speed. As such, we don’t recommend using her for fighting in Expedition content.

Cloris

As a heroine with R rarity, Cloris’ kit is very limited. However, what’s there is actually quite effective, as Cloris has a very powerful debuff that marks a single enemy, increasing the damage they take by 10%. What’s more, she can nuke an entire area for decent damage, giving her average AoE capabilities.

During Expeditions, Cloris is also utilitarian, though she’s arguably more useful than Gina above, considering that she can increase the meat gathering speed of her troops, as well as the yield of the Hunter Hut building in her city, amply increasing the amount of food that it can generate per hour.

Zinman

If there were support characters in Whiteout Survival, Zinman would definitely fill this role, particularly since his kit is mostly passive buffs that he can bestow on his teammates, boosting their attack speed, while also boosting his own defense considerably whenever his HP drops under 50%

In other types of content, Zinman is also a great supporter hero, as he can passively increase the construction speed of your settlement, while also reducing the cost to upgrade your buildings. As such, he’s a great hero to keep around, though his SSR rarity means that you’ll probably have a hard time actually unlocking him.

B Tier Whiteout Survival Heroes

These are the average heroes that you’ll mostly find along the way. Though they’re not as good as the ones in the previous two tiers, they’re very decent and great alternatives, just don’t expect them to carry as much as heroes in the S Tier, for example.

Jessie

With a very straightforward skill set, Jessie brings a balanced kit revolving around powerful single target damage along with decent AoE capabilities, while also being able to boost her own defenses, making her into a bit of a one-person army.

This mixed kit extends to her Expedition capabilities, as Jessie simply passively increases the attack and defense of her allies by a flat percentage.

Patrick

Despite wearing a chef’s attire, Patrick is actually quite a fierce combatant, with abilities that will help him stay in combat for long amounts of time; far beyond what other heroes could survive. This is because Patrick can passively heal himself every 5 seconds, restoring a chunk of his HP with every tick. Aside from this passive heal, Patrick can also actively restore the HP of all allied units, while also boosting their attack for a short duration.

This skill set makes Patrick into a powerful supporter hero, a fact that extends to his Expedition content, as he can also passively heal his troops every 12 turns, as well as passively boost their HP while Patrick is deployed in the field.

Charlie, Eugene, and Smith

The reason why we’re grouping these last three heroes together is that their Expedition skill sets are somewhat similar, revolving around a mix of decent damaging skills, along with a single buff that enhances some aspects of their performance.

The common factor that ties these three heroes together, however, is that they can each improve the production and gathering speed of a single resource: Charlie enhances coal production; Smith increases iron production, and Eugene increases wood production. As such, while they might not be the best fighters, they can still fulfill important roles in your town.

And that’s it for our Whiteout Survival tier list. Do you agree with our selection of heroes? Feel free to leave us your thoughts in the comments below!
