Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 Test Build - What’s In It And How To Download It

What’s In It

The test builds for Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 8 comes packed with new maps, weapons, and other improvements to the game.

New Maps

There are a ton of new maps in the test build for Season 8, including brand new maps, and revamped maps for both Battle Royale and Multiplayer.

First is the Hovec Sawmill map, which is a new Multiplayer map to be added in Season 8. The map was first seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and is set in a rural village in Kastovia, fourteen kilometers away from Venskaya while being in the same country as Verdansk. The map features a sawmill in its center that has caught fire and almost collapsed during a siege by Al-Qatala. It is a medium-sized, three-lane map that is good for 6v6 type matches, with a good mix of both interior and exterior play. It also features a beekeeper’s area, a butchery, and a vegetable farm.

Next is the beloved Crash map, which is getting better colorization and some changes in the props present on the map, but, overall, it will see no major changes that will alter the way matches are played on this map.

Lastly, rumors abound that if all goes as planned, Activision will also introduce a brand new Battle Royale map called Horizon, which will allow users to play a completely new version of Isolated. The current Isolated map is rumored to be subject to a nuclear bomb detonation on the 2nd anniversary of Call of Duty: Mobile, so we will all have to wait and see what Activision has planned for its users and what happens next with the map.

New Weapons

Along with new maps and changes to old maps, the test build for Season 8 also brings with it some new weapons for users to try out, including a rifle, a shotgun, an operator skill, a new scorestreak, and a new perk.

M13 Assault Rifle

A fully automatic Assault Rifle that is now available with the test server, the M13 AR is for those users who like a high firing rate. Clocking in at an impressive 891 RPM, the M13 takes about 5-6 bullets to kill an opponent out to 30 meters, although this may be reduced to 4-5 bullets if aimed at the head. It has relatively low damage, especially for an Assault Rifle, but the firing rate, which is higher than that of most ARs, SMGs, and LMGs, makes up for it and gives you ample opportunity to finish your opponent. In this way, the M13 is also a lot more forgiving in terms of missed shots since the 891 RPM firing rate allows you to quickly shoot more bullets even after you’ve missed a shot or two.

R9-0 Shotgun

This shotgun is currently playable in Call of Duty: Warzone, and is one of the most unique weapons of the game and has now made its way into the Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 test build. The R9-0 has a large ammo capacity and is lethal when used in closed quarters. The gun fires two shots before it needs to be pumped again, and with the right set of attachments to enhance and improve upon the gun’s range, it can be a deadly weapon from both close and medium range.

Lightning Strike

As mentioned, the Season 8 test build also brings with it a new scorestreak, which is called the Lightning Strike. The Lightning Strike works in a similar fashion to Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Mortar Team killstreak, which lets the user select three areas of the map on which the mortar team will attack. With the Lightning Strike scorestreak, however, it will be three FA38 fighter jets that will rapidly attack the selected areas of the maps with bombs, rendering the enemy incapable of escaping. To improve accuracy, the scorestreak also comes with a single UAV sweep which allows the user of the scorestreak to locate clusters of enemies to ensure maximum damage. This UAV sweep, however, is only available the first time the Lightning Strike scorestreak is used.

TAK-5

The new operator skill added to the test build is the TAK-5, which has been seen previously in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, having been used by Jarrah “Crash” Bazley. The TAK-5 is used to heal teammates, boosting their max HP. It does not need to be aimed and also works through walls, which makes it an extremely useful operator skill to add to your arsenal.

Iron Lungs

Finally, we have the new perk which has been added to the test build for Season 8, called Iron Lungs. The Iron Lungs perk allows users to hold their sniper rifle steady for up to 9 seconds, as opposed to the previous 4 seconds. After the 9 second mark, however, the rifle will begin to shake and sway uncontrollably and it will take 10 seconds before the rifle can be steadied again, hence it is recommended to hold the sniper rifle steady only for as long as required and not indefinitely.

Battle Royale Additions

Apart from the Multiplayer additions to the Season 8 test build, there are also a few additions made in the Battle Royale mode, including a new class, new equipment, and more.

Grasshopper

The Grasshopper class is the newest class addition in the Battle Royale mode. It comes with two skills, an active and a passive skill. The active skill is called the Jet Bag, and it will increase the amount of gas injection and increase the nitrogen recovery speed. The passive skill is called Jet Jump and will help players gain the jet jumping ability, but shooting in the air will increase emission.

Level 2 Backpack

A minor addition to the Battle Royale mode is the Level 2 Backpack, which will extend the capacity of your backpack to 8 slots, enabling you to carry more items with you during the Battle Royale mode.

Rally Car

A fast 2-seater, the Rally Car is the new vehicle added to the Battle Royale mode for Season 8. It is the fourth-fastest vehicle in the Battle Royale mode, behind the Muscle Car, Motorbike, and ATV.

New Health System

The Health System for the Battle Royale mode is expected to see some significant changes. Under the new Health System, the Base HP of 100 will heal 5 seconds after taking damage. In addition to this, the armor can take up to 3×50, which means a total of 250 effective health. The Armor Plus can take up to 4×50, which totals 300 in effective health. Finally, the Blue Zone damages the base health of the player instead of the armor.

Apart from these additions, the game has also reintroduced the weapon prestige system, weapon inspection, as well as new ranking tiers.
