Saihate Station brings the Adventure genre to life, and throws up exciting challenges for gamers. Developed by Realize Factory, this Android game is best experienced on BlueStacks, the World’s #1 app player for PC and Mac users.
Saihate Station drops you right into this weird, unsettling place with two guys—Haru and Shion—who couldn’t be more different. Haru’s the quiet, anxious type, always second-guessing himself, and Shion’s the confident coworker everyone seems to like. They’ve got this tense history, not exactly friends anymore, so when they get stranded together at this eerie station, it feels almost awkward. The game really lets you feel how off things are between them at first, but then they slowly have to start relying on each other again. There’s a big focus on their awkward teamwork—you get thrown into these exploration parts and problem-solving moments, and things actually shift between them depending on the choices and what happens during the adventure.
The atmosphere gets under your skin, but it isn’t just for jump scares. The puzzles aren’t too tough, but the main focus is really the story and these two trying to figure out both the situation they’re in and their own feelings. It’s one of those games using RPG Maker, so it’s got that classic 2D style and lots of dialogue, but the writing manages to keep it engaging. Playing it on PC with BlueStacks feels smooth too, since it’s originally a mobile game—so it actually looks decent blown up on a bigger screen. If moody storytelling and character-driven, slow-burn horror sound interesting, Saihate Station definitely has a way of pulling you into these two characters’ lives, plus there’s a big reveal about the station that actually pays off.
