Slendrina 2D takes the creepy, tense vibe of the original Slendrina games and drops it into a side-scrolling format. Instead of wandering around in first-person, you’re guiding your character left and right through this abandoned house, with just a couple of arrow controls. The challenge is to explore, find useful items, and avoid Slendrina herself, who absolutely doesn’t want anyone trespassing. Anytime she shows up on screen, you’ve got to turn away fast or lose one of your three lives. There are also some traps scattered around, so there’s a bit of careful timing and observation involved, not just running from place to place.
There’s still that feeling of suspense, since you never really know when Slendrina is about to pop up, and the limited lives make things feel a bit higher stakes. Occasionally, players have to search around the house, poking at different objects for hidden stuff to help them move forward.
