ScytheKick: Scythe Companion is the table-side helper that keeps your Scythe nights smooth, fast, and fair. Set up games, wrangle Automa turns, and tally scores without stopping the flow of play. It’s a smart companion from Timothy Cherna in the Genre: Board, and it even feels great on a bigger screen with BlueStacks if you like keeping the app up next to your board.
Game Features
- Quick setup: Choose total players, how many Automa you want, and which expansions are in. You’ll be ready to play in a minute.
- Factions and mats your way: Let the Draw button randomize pairings (and re-roll if you want), or pick specific factions and player mats yourself. Add player names so no one’s “Player 3” all night.
- Free vs. upgrades: The free app supports two base-game players. Need more seats? Premium unlocks additional players, and the Invaders from Afar upgrade adds those factions.
- Modules and tiles: Select Structure Bonus Tiles, and unlock Resolution and Airship tiles from The Wind Gambit via in-app purchases.
- Clean, fast scoring: Enter points by category—popularity, stars, territories, resources, and more—and the app calculates totals automatically. Share the final scoreboard when you’re done.
- Automa control center: A dedicated screen for each player (human and Automa) makes turn order obvious. Draw Automa turn/ combat cards, track star progress, and watch it switch from Scheme I to Scheme II when it’s time.
- Automa Helper map (upgrade): Pull up a map that tracks Automa units and solves their movement rules for you. You update the human pieces; it handles the rest.
- Handy settings: Manage purchases, adjust volume, keep the screen awake during Automa play, set whether Automas treat each other as friendly for the solver, toggle the Active Airship Variant, and choose AR Board size. There’s a built-in user guide, too.
- Scoring shortcuts and smarts: Skip auto-calculated categories you don’t need. The Smooth Popularity option awards coins on a sliding scale between levels (standard payouts still apply at 3, 9, and 15), and it even accounts for odd resource counts.
