It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but the story has heart and plenty of banter.
On the gameplay side, it is a slow burn that rewards tinkering. Item World lets players jump into their gear to power it up, which feeds that endless grind loop. There is Auto-Battle and a speed toggle up to 8x, and it even works in Item World, so raising stats on the side is painless. Weekly Ranking Battles throw in themed challenges, points, and a reason to optimize squads. Cloud saves are handy for bouncing between devices, and it runs fine on PC with BlueStacks if someone wants a bigger screen. PS4 controller support is partially there, so combat and menus work, though a few side menus still want touch. It can feel menu heavy and the learning curve is not small, but the mix of crunchy tactics, ridiculous scale, and deadpan humor stands out.
