ACECRAFT: Sky Hero is a cartoon-themed mobile shooter that offers an extremely fun experience: just like in old-school arcade games, you control a plane and shoot at waves of enemies coming at you from above. However, this game requires more than just pulling the trigger: you need to recognize boss patterns, upgrade your plane and character, and know when to shoot and when to defend. To help you with all this and enable you to fly & shoot like a pro, we’ve prepared a tips & tricks guide.

Master Movement

First, remember that you don’t have to dodge every bullet. If you see a pink bullet coming towards you on the screen, you can absorb it. Once you’ve absorbed enough bullets, you can shoot them back at your enemies. In other words, if it’s pink, you don’t need to dodge it. In this context, keep in mind that you don’t have to destroy every enemy. Some enemies descend from the top of the screen to the bottom and disappear; you don’t necessarily have to kill them. Of course, the more targets you hit, the more your score increases, but there’s no need to take unnecessary risks.

If you’re struggling with boss fights, remember that each one may require several attempts. Every boss has a pattern, and you need to learn it first. If you know what the boss will do at a specific moment in the fight, you can prepare yourself accordingly. Don’t hesitate to practice: defeating a boss may sometimes require a lot of effort.

Choose the Right Attachments

As you progress through a level, you will occasionally be asked to choose between different attachments. Do not click on the first option you see here. While all attachments are useful, some are more practical than others or are more suitable for a specific boss. Our recommendations are as follows:

  • Prioritize attachments that increase your main weapon’s damage. Your main weapon is the only thing that fires continuously, and giving it a damage boost is one of the best things you can do for nearly every level.

  • Attachments that don’t require you to aim directly at the target are better. Your primary weapon needs to be aimed directly at the target to hit it, but some weapons (or upgrades) that come with attachments don’t require this. They can lock onto targets in different parts of the screen and track them. This is a very useful thing for levels where you have to move around a lot, because you can fire at multiple locations at the same time.

Finally, we recommend continuing to select the same attachment and upgrading it, rather than choosing a different one each time. Attachments upgraded to the final level can be surprisingly powerful and effective.

Try Different Summon Types

ACECRAFT: Sky Hero is not a game where you always control the same pilot. Currently, there are 10 different pilots in the game, and they differ in terms of both rarity and basic skills. This simply means that it will be easier to complete levels and defeat bosses with some pilots. This also applies to your wingmen and gear: they all have a power level that varies depending on how rare they are.

To obtain new pilots, wingmen, and gear, you need to perform a summon, but don’t click on the first option you see: ACECRAFT offers different summon types, and some of them occasionally include increased chances. In other words, your chances of obtaining an S-rarity pilot or epic gear increase. Before performing a summon, check all available options and choose the one that offers the highest chance. In this context, remember that during events, almost every summon type will offer increased chances: it would be a good idea to wait for an event to start before spending your hard-earned diamonds.

Modify Your Aircraft and Equip Your Character with the Right Gear

Modification is a feature that unlocks after completing the first two levels, and you should start using it right away. Think of it as a kind of talent tree available for your aircraft. It consists of two options:

  • Base Tune-Up: These are upgrades that increase your aircraft’s basic stats (ATK, DEF, HP). Each can be unlocked for a certain amount of gold coins, but keep in mind that they also require a specific Academy Rank.
  • Super Tech: Special attachments you can start using once you’ve unlocked enough base tune-ups. They may also require you to collect special materials. The most powerful weapons (or upgrades) you can use against bosses come from here.

However, the only thing you can upgrade in ACECRAFT: Sky Hero isn’t just your aircraft: you can also equip your pilot with gear. Pilots have a total of 6 gear slots, which can be compared to equipment in mobile RPGs. Gear increases the pilot’s basic attributes, which directly affects your combat power, represented by a fist icon. On the gear screen, you can see both your attributes and your current combat power.

Don’t just give your pilots gear: you can enhance each piece of gear with the “fuse” option. This raises their level cap and increases their bonuses. However, you need at least three of the same gear for a fuse. This won’t be as difficult as you might think, as there are many activities that reward gear, meaning copies of the same gear will accumulate in your inventory faster than you expect.

And of course, as always, play ACECRAFT: Sky Hero on PC with BlueStacks controlling your aircraft with your mouse or gamepad will provide you with a much more enjoyable and seamless experience.
