In this guide, we’ll discuss all of the important things that you need to know when you finally play Among Gods! RPG Adventure.

Heroes

Heroes are your primary allies in Among Gods! RPG Adventure as they’re the ones who are going to fight alongside you in the campaign and also in the PvP arena. Each hero in the game is unique in that they have their set of skills and attributes that can contribute in winning battles.

Each hero belongs to a certain faction. There are currently five factions in the game and these are:

  • Justice: forthright, trustworthy, caring, helper to those in need, and guardian of justice.
  • Neutral: independent, neutral, and believes nature is true faith.
  • Evil: irritable, cruel, autocratic, capricious, and unscrupulous.
  • Holy: believe in light, pursue true fairness and justice, respect life and truth, hate darkness and depravity.
  • Corrupt: being self-centered, following inner desires, resentful, constraints and challenging conventions.

Aside from factions, heroes also have classes. The class of a hero determines how they fight and gives you an idea on how they should be used in battle.

  • Sage: decreases the damage taken
  • Warriors: basic attack deals bonus damage
  • Tank: absorbs more damage
  • Mage: casts rage skill faster
  • Ranger: deals more damage to target(s) farther away
  • Assassin: deals bonus damage to a specific target

The base strength of a hero can be determined by their rarity and their stars. Rarer heroes are more expensive and harder to recruit but they are significantly stronger. From weakest to strongest, the rarities are: B, A, S, and SS. Each hero has five stars that can indicate their base strength. Rarer heroes often have more stars by default. Unlike rarity, you can upgrade the stars that a hero has through the Miracle feature (which we’ll discuss more later).

Currency and Resources

Throughout your journey, you’re going to use several resources which are often required for upgrading heroes or buying other resources instantly.

  • Coins – the main currency of the game which can be used for things like gear enhancement and hero ascension. It can be easily acquired by beating campaign stages and accomplishing quests.
  • Diamonds – the premium currency of the game which allows you to recruit heroes via advanced summon, buy special items from the shop, or get other resources instantly. Oftentimes, Diamonds are acquired from microtransactions but can also be earned from some quests.
  • Hero EXP – is used for leveling up your heroes.
  • Hero Powder – is used for further leveling up heroes when they reach a certain level
  • Recruitment Voucher – is used for summoning heroes in the Tavern. There are three types of vouchers: Normal Recruitment Voucher (for normal summoning, Recruitment Voucher (for advanced summoning), and Faction Recruitment Voucher (for Faction summoning)

Campaign

The main campaign of Among Gods! RPG Adventure contains six chapters with each chapter having multiple stages. In order, these chapters are: The Holy City of Alden, Mashkule Castle, The Pyrenean Valleys, The Coast of Normandy, Beyond the White Cliff, Ulster Forest I, and Ulster Forest II.

Before starting each campaign stage, you can view who you’ll be facing through the “Enemy Lineup”. This is also where you can see if you’ll be fighting against a boss enemy or not. Entering a campaign stage costs energy. More energy are automatically generated as time passes by but you can also purchase them in exchange for diamonds to get them instantly.

Every campaign stage requires you to defeat the enemy lineup to proceed. After beating the stage, you earn a variety of rewards which includes coins, scrolls, EXP that you can use for upgrading or recruiting heroes. Additionally, completing certain chapter stages and even whole chapters unlocks rewards chests that include bonus rewards.

In the menu of chapter stages, you can click on the “Boost” button to bring up a menu where you can quickly upgrade all your heroes and equip gear before starting out. Another interesting feature that you can find here is the “Quick Battle” feature which makes upgrading heroes much more convenient.

After beating a stage, you cannot go back to replay it fully. However, through the “Quick Battle” feature, you can technically replay stages instantly only to get items needed to upgrade heroes. Using Quick Battle uses energy so make sure you have a lot in stock before using it.

Combat Overview

Combat in Among Gods! RPG Adventure is heavily dependent on the lineup that you create before entering battle.

The lineup consists of a maximum of five heroes. Each hero can be placed on one of the nine given tiles. To deploy a hero, just click on their icon and click it again to remove them from the lineup. At the top of the screen, you can view the quantified strength of your lineup relative to the strength of the enemy lineup. As much as possible, keep your strength greater than the enemy’s.

You can make your lineup stronger by utilizing combos, of which there are two types: faction combo and advanced combo. Faction combo grants you bonus buffs such as additional attack and health for all heroes depending on the number of same-faction heroes deployed in the lineup. Advanced combo grants different buffs depending on the combo when you deploy at least three of the heroes specified in the requirements.

When a battle starts, all attacks are done automatically by your heroes. Each successful attack fills up the hero’s “Rage Skill” meter. When full, a hero can activate their Rage Skill and unleash a devastating attack to enemies. You can enable the Rage Skill by clicking on it when it’s ready or you can let the game do it for you by enabling the “Auto” button. Note that auto combat is unlocked as you play the game.
