In Codename Crime – Vice, you role-play a vigilante criminal who got caught in a bank theft gone wrong. Killing cops and stealing their vehicles is probably the best way to directly increase star level.

Each increase in star level increases your wanted status, notifying police about your location, and a trail of cop cars on you. At 5 stars, you can even witness police choppers trying to take you down from the air. It’s relatively easy to clear the wanted stigma in Codename Crime – Vice as you only need to dodge any cops for a few minutes.

This task becomes even easier if you’re in a vehicle, as the icons of cops can be seen on the mini-map, giving you time to dodge them or simply drift your car away in the opposite direction. At wanted level 5, this can be a bit tougher as the police chopper can be hard to dodge. It’s advised to stay in buildings or at your apartment if the situation becomes too tense.

The control setup in Codename Crime – Vice is quite refreshing for a change. Unlike many modern games who try to clutter the screen with multiple icons and tabs, the controls in Codename Vice are easy to navigate and customize. For starters, the virtual movement wheel is located on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side, you can see the fist icon to throw punches, a dash button, and a jump button. The fist icon changes to the gun icon when you switch to a weapon. When wielding a weapon, a reload button can also be seen to easily reload your weapon.

The weapon system in Codename Crime – Vice is quite advanced for a mobile game, especially a GTA-based title. It features a ton of different weapons, each differing in terms of rarity. The base rarity of weapons starts at Common, going all the way to Top Shelf. Players can also upgrade their owned weapons, increasing their base rarity. This level up happens via proficiency, wherein the more you use the weapon, the more proficiency you earn with it. Players can equip up to 3 weapons at a time. New weapons can be purchased from the robotic gun dealer at the BuyMore shop.
