Crystal of Atlan Skill System Guide – Learn How to Equip and Upgrade Skills

In Crystal of Atlan, the skill system is quite diverse and customizable, never seen before in a mobile ARPG before. Firstly, there are up to 5 different base classes, and 12 distinct sub-classes that players can choose from. Each sub-class offers more diversification to your playstyle by helping you unlock different skills that can be used in combat. With so many different skills, players can tailor their playstyle uniquely to set them apart. In this guide, we will be explaining in detail how players can judiciously reap the benefits of the skill system.
What are Skills in Crystal of Atlan?
In Crystal of Atlan, all classes have access to unique skills or abilities. These abilities help you not only in combat scenarios but also in every facet of the game. Skills can be active or passive in nature. Active skills are those which have a cooldown associated with them, and need to be triggered manually. Players can cast these abilities in combat scenarios by using the skill wheel on the right-hand side. Active skills go on a cooldown and can only be used after sometime again.
Passive skills, on the other hand, are permanent buffs/effects that remain active throughout the duration of the battle. They need not be activated manually and are passive in nature. Likewise, they also don’t have any cooldown timers associated with them. Players can have up to 8 abilities and 2 finisher moves at a time. There are multiple ability slots in the game but they are cleverly hidden behind an intricate dual skill-wheel system. We will learn more in the next section.
Dual Skill Wheel
A dual skill wheel is implemented in Crystal of Atlan that helps players use more skills in conjunction with their 4 core skills. On the screen, you should see 4 main skills, and 1 finisher skill along with your pet ability and basic attack button. All of this is present on the right-hand side of the menu. Now, whenever you use any of the 4 active skills, they will then unlock another active skill behind them that can be used for a short period of time. Hence, each skill button is actually hiding 2 skills. Players can only use the secondary skill after some time of using the primary skill. Players can customize and choose which skills they want to be primary, and which they want to be secondary. Similarly, you can even have a secondary finisher skill that unlocks after you complete your sub-class ascension at level 45.
What are Skill Points?
Skill points are the core currency that is used to upgrade your existing abilities. If you’re confused how to unlock more abilities, do not be as they are unlocked automatically once you reach certain level requirements. Whenever you level up your account, you are given a certain amount of skill points. These points are only used to upgrade your active and passive abilities. Players can use them by going to the “Skills” menu. From there, you can select any skill that has the green arrow next to them, indicating they are ready to be upgraded.
Players can choose to either upgrade their skills one at a time, or invest all of their skill points directly to increase the current skills level to the maximum. We would recommend firstly only upgrading skills that you have equipped and actively use. You can see which one’s you have equipped by checking if they have a green circle. Secondly, do not fret if you think you have made the wrong choice as the option to reset any invested skill points is always there. Players can use the “Reset” button to get all of their invested skill points back for free. Keep in mind, only the first reset is free, and subsequent one’s can cost some premium currency.
Players can enjoy playing Crystal of Atlan on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
