Kingshot Hero Tier List Ranking Every Generation 1 Hero for Rally and Garrison

Kingshot is a medieval survival strategy game from Century Games in which you rebuild a fallen kingdom and compete with other governors for territory. Every march is led by heroes and the heroes you invest shards into decide how hard that march hits and how much it absorbs. This tier list covers all sixteen Generation 1 heroes, the complete starting roster on new kingdoms. If you’re still getting familiar with the game’s core systems, check out this Kingshot Beginners Guide before deciding where to spend your shards.
How Kingshot Hero Stats Actually Work
Opening a hero and tapping the stats button reveals two separate blocks, and telling them apart is the key to reading any tier list correctly. The Conquest block lists Hero Attack, Defense, and Health, which apply when the hero fights personally in stage battles. The Expedition block lists a percentage bonus for one troop type, always matching the hero’s own class.
Expedition governs rallies and garrison defence. When you send a march or reinforce a castle, the hero is applying a multiplier to thousands of soldiers rather than swinging a sword himself, so a higher percentage makes every one of those troops hit harder and survive longer. This is why a hero with modest personal stats can still outperform one with a bigger Attack value.
One finding from comparing all sixteen panels deserves stating plainly. Hero Defense sits at exactly 2,220 at maximum level for every Generation 1 hero, from the lowest Rare to the strongest Legendary, so it is not a differentiator at all. Attack, Health, and Expedition percentage are the only stats that separate one hero from another.
How This Tier List Ranks Heroes
Because Expedition drives rally and garrison performance, the tiers below are built around it rather than opinion. The sixteen heroes fall into clean bands that do most of the ranking work before any judgement is applied.
Two factors break ties inside a band. The first is the small icon beside each class icon: red crossed swords mark a combat hero, a green hammer a development hero whose Expedition skills are partly spent on gathering and construction, so two heroes can share a percentage while one contributes less in battle. The second is Talent, a passive that buffs your whole army even when the hero is benched, and which is not tied to rarity.
- 260.20% Expedition: Amadeus alone, roughly thirty percent clear of the field
- 200.16% Expedition: the other three Legendary heroes
- 140.11% Expedition: seven Epic heroes, split between combat and development
- 110.08% Expedition: Diana, the only Epic hero below her band
- 90.07% Expedition: all four Rare heroes
S Tier – The Legendary Core
These four are the only Legendary heroes in Generation 1, and the gap to the rest is wide enough that shard priority should almost always go here first.
Amadeus – Infantry
Amadeus is the strongest Generation 1 hero and it is not close. His Expedition reaches 260.20%, about thirty percent above anything else in the roster, and his 41,624 Health is the largest by a wide margin. He also carries a Talent raising Lethality and Health for every deployed soldier by fifteen percent, active whether or not he leads, while his Exclusive Gear adds up to fifteen percent Rally Attack. Pull him and he leads your rallies permanently.

Helga – Infantry
Helga is the second Infantry Legendary and the closest substitute for Amadeus. Her Expedition sits at 200.16% and her 36,630 Health is the second highest in the generation, making her an excellent garrison anchor. She is one of only two heroes here with a Talent, hers lifting Attack and Defense for all squads by ten percent, and her Exclusive Gear adds up to fifteen percent Rally Lethality.

Jabel – Cavalry
Jabel is the only Legendary Cavalry hero in Generation 1, so her slot is uncontested once you have her. Her line is unusually symmetrical at 2,220 Attack and 2,220 Defense with 22,200 Health and the Legendary standard of 200.16% Expedition. She has no Talent, so she buffs only the Cavalry she leads, but every alternative sits sixty percentage points lower.

Saul – Archer
Saul has the highest raw Attack in Generation 1 at 2,697 and holds the Legendary Expedition bonus of 200.16%. The catch is his development focus, marked by the green hammer, meaning part of his allocation goes to economy bonuses instead of combat. His 16,650 Health is also the lowest of the Legendary heroes. He remains the best Archer here, but he grows your kingdom as well as fighting for it.

A Tier – Combat Epics at 140.11%
These five share an Expedition bonus of 140.11% and all carry the red combat icon, so their skills go to fighting rather than resource generation.
Howard – Infantry
Howard is the only Epic Infantry hero in Generation 1 and genuinely useful rather than a placeholder. His 26,640 Health is the highest of any non-Legendary hero, exceeding even Jabel and Saul, making him a strong garrison body against incoming rallies. His 1,361 Attack is modest, so treat him as a wall rather than a damage dealer.

Quinn – Archer
Quinn is one of the two heroes you start with, and unlike most tutorial units he stays relevant. He maxes at 2,157 Attack with 13,320 Health and 140.11% Expedition, all of it feeding combat. He holds your Archer slot until Saul arrives, and because you own him from the start he is the safest early target for upgrade materials.

Fahd – Cavalry
Fahd is one of three Epic Cavalry heroes sharing an identical line of 1,776 Attack, 17,760 Health, and 140.11% Expedition. With Jabel in the Legendary slot, his job is filling your second and third marches, which matters once you run simultaneous rallies. His ten shard cost makes him accessible.

Gordon – Cavalry
Gordon shares that exact line of 1,776 Attack, 17,760 Health, and 140.11% Expedition, so there is no mechanical reason to prefer him over Fahd or the reverse. The deciding factor is which shards your shops and events offer. Finish one rather than ending up with two half-raised heroes.

Chenko – Cavalry
Chenko is mechanically identical to Fahd and Gordon, but recruiting her needs forty shards rather than the ten every other Epic asks for, four times the cost for no extra power. Build the others first unless her shards are already piling up. Note that several community guides list her as Infantry, while the game shows Cavalry.

B Tier – Development Epics and Diana
These three are held back either by a development focus that pulls their skills away from combat, or by a lower percentage than their rarity suggests.
Yeonwoo – Archer
Yeonwoo matches Quinn on paper at 2,157 Attack, 13,320 Health, and 140.11% Expedition, but carries the green development icon. Part of her allocation goes to gathering and construction rather than Archer combat, so she delivers less on a rally than her headline number implies. She is worth keeping while you upgrade your Town Center. The game lists her as an Archer despite some guides claiming otherwise.

Amane – Archer
Amane shares Yeonwoo’s exact profile of 2,157 Attack, 13,320 Health, 140.11% Expedition, and a development focus. For march building the two are the same hero, so raising both wastes materials. Pick whichever your shards favour, and note that neither should be your rally Archer once Saul or Quinn is available.

Diana – Archer
Diana is the anomaly of Generation 1. She carries the red combat icon and her Conquest stats match the other Epic Archers exactly, which should place her in A Tier. Yet her Expedition stops at 110.08% rather than the 140.11% every other Epic reaches, and that shortfall applies to every soldier in her march. Replace her once another Archer is available.

C Tier – The Rare Heroes
All four Rare heroes sit at 90.07% Expedition and carry the green development icon. They fill gaps in your earliest marches and then step aside.
Seth – Infantry
Seth reaches 21,644 Health, a substantial figure that beats several Epic heroes. His 1,106 Attack is the joint lowest in the generation and his 90.07% Expedition caps what he passes on. He works as an emergency garrison body early, but retire him once any Epic Infantry option appears.

Forrest – Infantry
Forrest is statistically identical to Seth at 1,106 Attack, 21,644 Health, and 90.07% Expedition, with the same development focus. There is no distinction between them, so build whichever shards arrive first. Avoid levelling both, since those materials are far better spent on Howard or saved for Helga.

Olive – Archer
Olive has the highest Attack of the Rare heroes at 1,752, but the lowest Health in the generation at 10,822. That makes her fragile in extended fights, and her 90.07% Expedition is the floor. Most players field her first because her shards are common, and she handles early stages fine, but she offers nothing for rallies.

Edwin – Cavalry
Edwin closes the roster with 1,442 Attack, 14,430 Health, and 90.07% Expedition. As the only Rare Cavalry hero he holds that slot until Fahd, Gordon, or ideally Jabel arrives. He also has just two Conquest skill slots against the three Epic and Legendary heroes receive, capping his ceiling however much you invest.

Generation 1 Hero Comparison Table
Every value comes from the maximum level and stars preview. Hero Defense is omitted because it is identical at 2,220 for all sixteen heroes.

Where to Spend Your Shards First
Kingshot gives you far fewer shards than you need, so the difference between a strong account and a struggling one is usually concentration rather than luck. Spreading materials across six half-built heroes produces weak marches, while committing to one hero per class produces a march that competes.
Because Hero Defense is fixed across the roster, you are effectively buying Attack, Health, and Expedition percentage, each of which scales with how far you push a single hero rather than how many you own.
Generation 1 hands you a complete roster of sixteen heroes, and once you read the Expedition percentage correctly the ranking becomes far less mysterious than most tier lists suggest. Amadeus stands alone, the other three Legendary heroes form a clear second group, and the Epic heroes are separated mainly by whether their skills point at combat or development. Since Hero Defense never varies, your decisions come down to Attack, Health, and that multiplier. Concentrate shards on one hero per class and your marches will hold up against far larger accounts.
