Understanding the Gameplay Overview of Last Asylum: Plague

In Last Asylum: Plague, players are tasked with the role of fulfilling the duties of a Plague doctor. For those unaware, these types of doctors wore a special mask and used to actually visit house to house to cure illnesses in 16th century Europe. As a plague doctor, you are tasked with curing the diseases of several patients of the town, starting off with the mayor. You will be guided with the help of in-game quests that detail how you can cure patients and expand your plague ward to a hospital.

Of course, you will need to hire more assistants, nurses, and expand your ward to a full-fledged hospital. Sadly, not everything goes smoothly since the theme of the game is based around real-time events like the Bubonic and Rat Plagues. You will be dealing with infested rats, and will need to hire several survivors for different tasks. Some excel at fighting, while others are good at other jobs such as fixing up boards, electrical department, medicines, and much more. All in all, the game is pretty relaxing and enjoyable as a single-player experience.

Main Quests

The main quests in Last Asylum: Plague are the core bread and butter for any new player. Divert all your time and energy into completing them fast, as not only do they give you generous rewards but also help you progress through the game’s elements. Players can view them at the top of their screen, and clicking on them takes you directly to the questing area. Most of the quests are simple and can be completed in less than a minute in the early game. However, as you progress more, they get more challenging. This is once the hand-holding phase is finished, the game considers you competent enough to manage on your own.

The Sanctuary

Your Sanctuary is the main building in Last Asylum: Plague. This building serves the purpose of being the first ever plague hospital of the town, and you being the core doctor and caretaker of the place. Much of your time as a new and mid-game player will be spent in this building taking care of the patients. You will need to hire receptionists, workers, movers, and nurses to automate most of the work. Naturally, you can upgrade this building to unlock new wards, increase storage space, nurses, workers, and everything else.

The Combat System and Mechanics of Last Asylum: Plague

In Last Asylum: Plague, there are combat and action sequences, although they are quite limited. Players will face mutated rats and other creatures of the wild in these challenges. Your trusted heroes will accompany you in these battles. Players can take up to a maximum of 5 heroes in a battle. Each hero is unique and can be recruited via the events, quests, and the innate gacha system. Heroes come in differing rarities, and have access to their own powerful unique active abilities. These abilities can be used manually or automatically once their energy bar is full.

Yes, the combat system of Last Asylum: Plague is very Idle-like, and players don’t have much to do during the battle phase itself. Your heroes have an HP bar and a yellow-colored energy bar. The latter fills when they take or deal damage to enemies. Once this bar is full, their portrait will glow, signalling that their active ability is ready to use. You can strategize hero combinations effectively to win more battles!

The Core Currencies of Last Asylum: Plague

As the plague doctor, you will be dealing with tons of resources and currencies in Last Asylum: Plague. This game features a ton of building mechanics that use differing currencies than the ones used in the sanctuary. First up is the Wheat and Wood. You get the former from the Farm, and the latter from the Lumberyard. Assign different survivors of the town to increase the efficiency of your Farms and Lumberyards. Of course, you can also upgrade them directly to increase total output and collection storage.

Players can enjoy playing Last Asylum: Plague on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
