All players are required to choose a class out of 4 given options at the start of the game. Each class has access to unique active and passive skills that are useful in thematic combat scenarios. One of the biggest decisions that any player has to make in Tales of Mecha is to choose a class. This is an irreversible decision, meaning once you have made a choice, you can’t go back on it. Hence, choosing a class is very important as it shapes your playstyle for the rest of the game. Of course, you can change your account but that will mean all the current progress being lost. At the time of global launch, Tales of Mecha provides 4 class options:
- Swordsman
- Dual Gunslinger
- Hierophant
- Mage

Swordsman Class in Tales of Mecha
The Swordsman class in Tales of Mecha is a melee-ranged DPS character that can be built to deal damage or absorb damage. It wields the mighty sword that is capable of slashing through the mightiest of armors. Check out Swordsman’s abilities:
- Dauntless Charge – Charges at the target direction, dealing damage to 3 targets in the destination area while decreasing 40% movement speed for 2 seconds.
- Heroic Strike – Attacks 3 targets in a cone 3 times, dealing damage in total while decreasing 40% movement speed for 2 seconds.
- Sword of Judgement – Summons the sword of judgement at the target location, dealing judgement damage to the main target while creating a circle for 3 seconds, which deals 30% damage to 4 targets per second. FOr each 1 enemy player in the vicinity, the Swordsman takes 5% less damage. This effect doubles while the Swordsman’s HP is below 30%.

Dual Gunslinger Class in Tales of Mecha
The Dual Gunslinger class in Tales of Mecha is a ranged DPS character that boasts agility, tons of damage per second, and versatile combos. It wields the powerful dual handguns that can pierce through any armor. Check out Dual Gunslinger’s abilities:
- Dazzling Missile – Rapidly fires multiple missiles to the distant target area to attack 3 targets 5 times, dealing damage. Moving is allowed during the casting.
- Concussion Bomb – Casts a concussion bomb to the target area, dealing damage to 3 targets while inflicting 30% slow on them for 2 seconds. Attacks 5 targets instead when fighting monsters.
- Lightning Barrage – Channels power onto the frontal cone for 2 seconds to attack 4 targets 6 times, dealing damage while inflicting 40% slow for 2 seconds. Attacks 8 targets instead when fighting monsters.

Hierophant Class in Tales of Mecha
The Hierophant class in Tales of Mecha is a ranged Support character that serves the purpose of providing allies with shields and heals. It wields the holy cross that is capable of breaking illusions and providing support to allies. Check out Hierophant’s abilities:
- Onslaught – Charges to the target with the cross in hands, dealing damage to 3 enemies along the way, with another 100% damage to the frontal target at the destination. Affects 5 enemies instead when fighting monsters.
- Hammer of Penance – Smashes 3 targets in the frontal circular area with the cross, dealing damage while leaving Power of Light in place for a second, which deals damage to enemies within the radius upon expiring. Attacks 5 targets instead when fighting monsters.
- Divine Verdict – Heals self by 5% MAX HP with the light of healing, then attacks 3 enemies in the target area 3 times, dealing damage. Attacks 5 targets instead when fighting monsters.

Mage Class in Tales of Mecha
The Mage class in Tales of Mecha is a ranged DPS character that controls the core elementals of nature and serves the purpose of an arcane wizard. It wields the mystical staff that imbues the elemental power and makes the sorcerer a worthy foe. Check out Mage’s abilities:
- Energy Orb – Casts an energy orb to the target direction, dealing damage to 3 targets in a round area while decreasing 40% movement speed for 2 seconds. Attacks 4 targets instead when fighting monsters.
- Arcane Circle – Flicker towards the target direction for a short distance, dealing damage to 3 targets near the departure point and the destination point. Attacks 5 targets instead when fighting monsters.
- Raging Gust – Summons a hurricane in the target area for 3 seconds to attack 4 targets 4 times, dealing damage. Attacks 8 targets instead when fighting against monsters.
