Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager gives you the chance to become the manager of the world’s most successful soccer team. However, to achieve success, you need to get your career off to a solid start and learn the basic mechanics of this mobile football game. We have created this guide for that purpose: here, you will find useful information about what to do and what to focus on during the early game phase. Please note that this information is at a beginner level: for more advanced info, you can check out our other articles —for example, our guide on the best tactics.

Core Mechanics for Beginners

Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager is a management game, which means that unlike other mobile soccer games, you don’t control players during a match. Instead, you recruit and train them—your goal is to build the best soccer team in the world by transferring the right players and giving them adequate training. The basic game mechanics revolve around the following:

  • Build a team and select players. When the game starts, you will be asked to select a country and three players for the attacker, midfielder, and defender positions. Your budget is limited at this stage, but who you choose isn’t that important, as you will be able to change them quickly.

  • Train your players. After selecting your first three players, you will be required to complete five matches (and win them all). During this process, you will also learn the basics of how to train them. Simply put, if your chances of defeating the opposing team are shown in red, it means your players need training.

  • Play matches and transfer new players to your team. During matches, you are only a spectator, meaning you cannot control the players. (However, as we will discuss below, you can switch between different formations and strategies.) After each match, your management XP will increase, and you will gain access to a larger budget. With this budget, you can continue to sign new players and strengthen your team.

This cycle—transferring new players, training them, and winning matches to increase your management level—forms the core mechanics of the game at every stage. Of course, as you progress, you will gain access to different features for each, but the things you need to do will always remain the same.

Advanced Mechanics & Features of Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager

After winning 5 matches, the ‘League’ feature will be unlocked and you will be able to use more mechanics. The most important ones are:

Advanced Training

At first, you will be able to improve your players’ performance in a few seconds by clicking on the “quick training” button, but as you progress, this will not be enough. You will have to use more training options. For example, you will even need to give them sports massages. Once you reach a certain stage, you will also need to start targeted training: for example, you will need to focus on attack, defense, possession, or condition. Although these are advanced techniques, don’t worry: the game will guide you on which training technique is necessary.

TIP If your chances of winning a match seem low, it means you either need to transfer a better player or complete a specific training program. Check both.

Formations

These are the formations your team will use during matches, and initially, you only need to choose one of the defensive, neutral, and attacking options. However, once you join the League and start facing stronger opponents, you will need to use more advanced formations and even change them during matches – for more information, check out our formation guide. Advanced formations are similar to rock-paper-scissors, meaning each has a counter. However, initially, selecting one of the three basic formations will suffice.

TIP If you don’t need training and can’t win a match even though you have good players, it means you are unable to respond appropriately to your opponent’s formation. Try switching between different formations.

Signing New Players

You cannot use the same players forever: you must regularly transfer new (and better) players to your team. Although there are other criteria that determine this, you can initially decide which players are better than others based on their star ratings. You should replace players with low star ratings in your team with players with higher star ratings – simple. Remember that you will need a different player for each position. Until you reach the mid-game stage, your goal should be to fill every position on your team with players who have high star ratings. After that (if you can no longer increase the star rating), you can start focusing on the players’ individual stats and making more detailed analyses. Remember that your football transfer budget is limited: you need to make wise choices.

TIP At the beginning, you will be allowed to transfer new players to your team for free. Use this opportunity wisely and make the best possible choice.

These are the most important basic mechanics you need to know: by using them with the tips we have shared here, you can reach the mid-game and even the end-game phase easily. Recruit new players, train them, and win matches – the main gameplay always revolves around this. As always, we strongly recommend playing Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager on PC with BlueStacks for a more enjoyable and seamless experience.
