What Are Tactics in ‘Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager’?
These are tactics that you can access from the Squad menu and determine how your players will behave in different scenarios. For example, you can set the team mentality to normal, defensive, or attacking. These choices determine how balanced they will play, how much risk they will take, or how much they will stay in defense. You can further customize these with different fine adjustments.
Tactics are divided into two categories: attack and defense. Let’s take a closer look at both.
Attack Tactics in Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager
Team Mentality
This setting determines the overall mentality of your team. Use it if you want to determine the general style of play without having to fiddle with other settings. There are five options available in this tactic:
- Hard Defending
- Defensive
- Normal
- Attacking
- Hard Attacking
Attack and its sub-options allow you to maintain constant pressure on your opponent, but leave you vulnerable to counterattacks. Defensive sub-options reduce this risk but do not create many scoring opportunities.
Normal is usually the best choice in most situations. However, if you need to win a match by a significant margin, switch to the Attacking tactic. If you need to avoid goals, the Defensive option should be chosen. Avoid using the “Hard” options unless they are specifically required.
Focus Passing
This tactic determines which part of the field your players will organize their play. You can choose from four options:
- Mixed
- Down Both Flanks
- Right Flank
- Left Flank
- Through the Middle
Start the match with the mixed tactic and decide which one to switch to during the match. No option is better than another here; make your decision based on how the match develops. You should organize your play where your opponent is weak on the field.
Passing Style
Determines the distance of passes between your players. You can choose one of three options:
- Short
- Mixed
- Long
Short passes are the most reliable, as the chance of the ball being intercepted by the opponent is quite low. However, they do not create many scoring opportunities. Long passes are much more effective at creating scoring opportunities, but the risk of losing the ball is also greater. Once again, it is best to decide during the game.
Force Counterattacks
This tactic only offers On and Off options. If you select On, your players will launch a counterattack when the ball crosses into your half and set up a play based on long passes. While this may seem like a good idea, it often creates the risk of losing the ball. Unless absolutely necessary, keep this tactic set to Off.
Defense Tactics in Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager
Pressing Style
This tactic has two options: low and high. It determines the level of pressure your players will apply (i.e., the level of pressure they will exert on their opponents). You may think that the high setting is a better idea, but constantly using high pressure will cause your players to tire quickly. It is best to start with low and switch to high depending on how the game is going.
Tackling Style
You can determine the level of tackling your players will use, and there are three levels: easy, normal, and hard. Hard tackling increases your ball possession rate but causes more fouls. In general, avoid the low tackling setting unless absolutely necessary and select the normal level. We recommend switching to hard tackling only if you have no other choice.
Marking Style
Will you play zonal or man-to-man? This tactic allows you to choose one of these two options. Zonal marking designates a specific area of the field and waits for the opposing team entering that area. Man-to-man, on the other hand, keeps your players active across the entire field without a specific zone. Zonal marking is generally a better choice, especially if you want to play defensively. However, the best decision is to make it based on how the game is going.
Play Offside Trap
This tactic has two options: On and Off. When On, your players will try to catch opposing players offside. If you don’t have many (good) defenders, keep it Off, but if you use high press and trust your defenders, you can choose On.
Remember that you can change these tactics at any time during a match. The better you are at analyzing your opponent, the better you can choose the tactics you will use. As always, play Top Eleven Be a Soccer Manager on your PC with BlueStacks for a more enjoyable and seamless experience.
